Explain some tips for guessing wisely on multiple-choice questions.

-The correct answer is often more carefully stated than the incorrect choices. -A positive statement is more likely to be correct than a negative statement. In a five-choice, multiple-choice test, there are usually more "C" answers than "A," "B," "D," or "E." -If the last word in the stem ends with "a," then you know the answer must begin with a consonant. Likewise, if it ends with "an," the answer must begin with a vowel. -Go with your gut! Your first guess is likely the correct one.

If you have time left after answering all the questions, it's always good to review them. What steps should you take when reviewing your answers?

1. First, look at your answer sheet to make sure it is filled in properly. 2. Next, make sure your answers correspond to the right questions and that you did not leave any blank if you meant to answer them. 3. Finally, return to the questions you were unsure of.

1. know how to manage your thoughts 2. know how to calm your feelings

What are three things you should accomplish before the test to make sure you are prepared to do well?

1.devote time every week to study for the test, and make sure you start this practice at least six months prior to test day. 2. take advantage of the sample questions that the College Board provides for the PSAT and the ACT provides for Aspire. Use them to practice and understand the types of questions you'll be asked on these tests. 3. spend extra time focusing on subjects that you feel less confident in.

Where should you look for grammatical inconsistencies on tests? Why is it important to be aware of such inconsistencies?

Be alert for grammatical inconsistencies between the question stem and the answer choices on multiple-choice questions. A choice is almost always wrong if it and the stem do not make a grammatically correct sentence.

If you have trouble getting up in the morning, what is a tip you can do to help you wake up in time on test day? How should you dress on test day?
