Give examples of ideas you have had or implemented.

An idea that I implemented at L3Harris was analyzing a report that showed all contract lines in for the Space and Intelligent segment. By utilizing various excel features I was able to track which lines had not been assigned bill plans and which biller was responsibility for the respective costs.

Walk me through your resume (L3Harris / 8)

1. L3Harris Technologies: 1. Billed on average $6M dollars in monthly costs and fee's relative to 50 contracts 2. Coordinated with the program team to ensure the proper dollar amounts were billed on a monthly and semi-monthly basis 3. Gained additional knowledge of Peoplesoft through generating invoices, designing and running queries, and interfacing with contract personnel pertinent to administrative fields. 4. Developed a better knowledge of existing FAR regulations through active involvement in the invoicing process. 5. Communicated to the program teams and billing team Accounts Receivable aging with a focus on balances that were beyond the payment terms expressed in the contract. 6. Assisted the organization in revenue recognition through frequently communicating to the program teams any costs over funding and when funding was reaching the 85 percent benchmark. 7. Give me an example of a time you did something wrong? How did you handle it?

A time I did something wrong was when I drafted a piece of correspondence not to my supervisors approval. When situations like this arise I recognize, accept, and correct them.

Tell me about a time where you had to deal with conflict on the job?

A time I had to deal with a conflict on the job was when another billing analyst and I had altering characteristics. She had a foreign accent that initially came off as rude. Seeking to understand, maintaining a professional demeanor and doing everything in my power to make the origination suitable for the two of us is how I handled the situation.

Give me an example of a time you went above and beyond the call of duty?

A time I went above and beyond the call of duty at L3Harris is by utilizing my excel skills to find database discrepancies. Discrepancies consisted of bill plans not being assigned which met the cost's would not end up on the billing analyst's worklist.

Do you see yourself as a big picture person or a detail oriented person?

Although I have the ability to be a detail oriented person I am more of a big picture person.

What assignment was too difficult for you? how did you handle it?

An assignment that was too difficult for me was when I was taking applied calculus online one summer. I overcame these difficulties by going to the math learning center and asking for help.

Where were you most satisfied in your job? (3)

At Harris I enjoyed designing queries/reports to help make the organization for efficient. Utilizing Vlookups in excel to communicate to the team AR items that were beyond the period of performance and finding database discrepancies are two way's I added value. Other aspects of the job I enjoyed was doing numerous account reconciliations to ensure the organization was in compliance with various Federal Acquisition Regulation's.

Holy Sepulchre

At Holy Sepulcher Cemetery I became involved in a wide range of functions. Such as reconciling cash to cash receipts, posting payroll in sage software and updating sales analysis using reports generated in sage software.

Tell me the difference between good and exceptional

Good can be closely defined as someone who is able to perform most of the essential job functions. Exceptional means someone goes above and beyond the call of duty by creating for a better workplace.

What are you looking for in terms of career development?

I am currently looking for a job that has promising growth opportunities. A job that would allow me to expand on my existing office skills and establish rapore at the managerial level.

Why did you choose the is major?

I chose this major because I liked the collaboration accounting had between math and business.

Do you think a leader should be feared or liked?

I definitely don't believe a leader should be feared because if that is the case than if a problem were to arise it may not be reported. However I don't believe a leader should be an employee's best friend either.

How do you feel about working for someone that knows less than you?

I don't mind working for someone that knows less than I do unless they try to convince me that they know more.

What do you like to do?

I enjoy reading, exercising, spending time with friends, and relaxing.

What did you like least about your last job?

I feel I have learned a great deal in every position I have upheld in the past. Certainly there were things I liked more than others but I always find I learn something from tasks I am assigned.

Who was your favorite manager and why?

I have gained a high multitude of knowledge and insight from each manager I have had in the past and I can't think of my favorite manager.

What do you look for in terms of cultured structure?

I look for and value a chain of command. For instance I look for there to be a supervisor, lower level managers and employees.

What is your greatest failure and what did you learn from it?

I served close to 4 years in the military, however my time was cut a little short because I was a young man and went out drinking with guys a bit too often. I have learned a great deal from this experience and continue to make positive strides because of it.

What do you ultimately want to become?

I ultimately want to become a role model for young adults and to leave behind a legacy. This is one of the steps in getting there.

Why are you interested in the Budget Analyst position?

I want this job because I'm confident in my ability to interact with individuals effectively and professionally. I also have strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Further I'm a highly motivated self starter with a good overall knowledge of accounting principles.

What type of personality do you work best for?

I work best for people that are direct, to the point and listen to their employees.

How would you go about establishing your credibility quickly with the team?

I would establish my credibility quickly with the team by valuing other's views and by performing all of the job functions of the job.

If you had too many tasks to complete in a day how would you handle it?

I would go to my supervisor and let them know the tasks I have yet to complete and how much time I expect each task to take. Most of the time working overtime at L3Harris ensured assignments were completed by the proposed deadline.

If you found out someone was committing fraud on the job what would you do about it?

I would report it directly to the immediate supervisor. If nothing was done about it and the fraudulent act was still being committed I would be forced to leave.

How long would it take for you to make a significant contribution

I would say it would take 1 -2 weeks until I felt as though I was being a valued team member.

If I was your supervisor and asked you to do something that you disagreed with how would you deal with it?

If you were my supervisor and asked me to do something I disagreed with I would ask you questions on the tasking in hopes of getting a better understanding of what was expected of me.

Where would you like to be in your career in five years?

In five years from now I would like to have demonstrated a great deal of financial acumen and still be employed at Oaks Inc / sustainable energy developments.

How do you feel about taking no for an answer?

In most situations I am able to accept no for an answer unless statistics, facts or experience say's otherwise

Tell me about a time where you had to give someone difficult feedback? How did you handle it?

In previous jobs I have had to revise other peoples work. In doing so I tried to be as empathetic and understanding towards the employee as possible. I find it helps to not forget where I started in an organization when giving such feedback.

How do you want to improve yourself in the next year?

In the next year I want to improve myself by proving to this company that I can perform all of the essential job functions of the job while continuing on my pursuit of becoming a CPA

What techniques or tools do you use to keep yourself organized?

Most of the time my organization is dependent upon technology. Many times I will record tasks in Microsoft word, outlook or calendar. I also utilize label makers, scanners, staples, paperclips and binders to stay organized.

What is your biggest regret and why?

My biggest regret is not taking advantage of some of the opportunities made available to me during my military service. I regret this becasue I know today what I didn't know while I was serving.

What kind of goals do you have in mind if you got this job?

My goals in this job would be to meet deadlines, communicate with team members effectively and be a valuable asset to this company.

What is your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is not being recognized. I hold myself to a high standard both professionally and personally and the most rewarding part is other's recognition of that.

If I were to ask your last supervisor to provide you with additional training what would he suggest?

My last supervisor would of asked that I keep more open dialogue and communication with her. By the time she became my supervisor I had already acquired the fundamental knowledge of the job. Her and I had limited conversation before she left the role.

What is your personal mission statement?

My personal mission statement would stress never to reject or too quickly judge someones attitudes, beliefs or ideas for it is through ingenuity that the world becomes a better place.

What do you think of your previous boss?

My previous boss or boss's were excellent. They were very clear in what they expected of their employees and were quick to correct any miscues.

My proudest achievement this far is exercising some of the knowledge I've obtained from college at my present job. Also not forgetting about my values and mindset towards continuous improvement and knowledge expansion.

What negative thing would your boss say about you?

One negative thing my last boss would say about me is that I sometimes overthink or over analyze some situations.

The most difficult decision I've had to make in the last two year's is moving out of New York State and finding a new job.

What was the most difficult period in your life and how did you deal with it?

The most difficult period in my life would have to be leaving everything I knew here at home to try something completely different when I joined the Navy.

What is the most important thing you learned in school?

The most important thing I have learned in school is how to interact with people, meet deadlines and to keep an open mind.

Three positive things my last boss would say about me are that I am charismatic, determined and hard working

What will you miss about your present or last job?

What I will miss about my last job are the people I worked with. Over the years I've been able to establish a relationship with them.

What irritates you about other people? how do you deal with it?

What irritates me about other people is when other people have difficulty controlling there emotions. When situations like this arise I try to understand why the individual is upset and set aside all differences to complete the task at hand.

What do you see yourself doing with in the first 30 days of this job?

With-in the first 30 days of the job I for see myself establishing my credablity quickly with the team by listening to others, meeting company protocol, performing research and drafting correspondence.

Can you describe a time when your work was criticized?

Yes my work was criticized early on in my military career for not not having enough attention to detail. I dealt with this by paying closer attention to what authority was telling me, asking for help when I needed to, and saving various correspondences.

Have you ever been on a team when someone was not pulling their weight? How did you handle it?

Yes. I've been on a team where someone was not pulling their own weight. In many of these instances it would of been out of place for me to solve these issues. Thus I took the approach that I have no control over what other people do just what I do.

Was there a person in your career that really made a difference?

Yes. Rochelle Wilson really made a difference in my career because she was a true leader and stood behind her employees. She also taught me the importance of professional communication in the workplace.
