It celebrates the day when God delivered the Jews from destruction.
How is it symbolic of the Resurrection of Christ?
It is symbolic of the Resurrection because Jonah spent three days in the belly of a fish just as Jesus rose from the dead after three days in the tomb.

What is God's providence?
Providence is God's constant care for and protection of his people.
Ezra
a priest who also helped God's people. He called the people back to the faithfulness of God's law.
Malachi
a prophet who foresaw a day when God would come to judge his people, and mentioned a messenger who would prepare the way for repentance and true worship

a virtuous Jewish girl who married the king of Persia. She prayed and fasted and, at great risk to herself, appealed to the king to save the Jews.

a wealthy Jew living in Nineveh, Assyria. He had financial losses and then became blind and prayed that God would let him die because he was so miserable.
