A&P Chapter 1
effector
generates a response(adjusted)
receptor, control center and effect
homeostasis consists of three basic components: ?
control center
processes information and sends commands to the effector(evaluated)
homeostasis
refers to the body's ability to maintain a relatively stable internal environment in response to changing internal or external conditions
receptor
sensor that collects information, detects changes, and sends a signal to a control center(monitored)
positive feedback
takes away from a normal body state by causing a greater change in the organism(controls INFREQUENT events until a certain goal is reached)
negative feedback
works against changes in the organism by returning a variable to a normal level(works continuously)
