It was a feeling of friendship. Despite the harships and many death they have faced, they still saw their king as their king, and nothing less

It was for his grip was too strong even for the sword when he swung. It would usually ruin the sword. For the types of enemies he faces, typically conventional weapons are not strong enough to harm them usually his god-like strength was more potent.
