Quartiles
The quartiles of a data set divide the data into four equal parts.
Statistics
The science of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data.
Mode
The value/values that occur most often in a data set.
Outlier
A data value that is much greater or much lass than all the others.
Measure of center
A measure that describes the typical value of a data set.
Median
For even numbers the median is the mean of the two middle values, for odd numbers the median is the middle value.
Statistical Question
One for which you do not expect a single answer for.
Mean
The average of a number set.
Mean absolute deviation
The average of how much data values differ from the mean.
Range
The difference between the least value and the greatest value.
Interquartile range
The difference between the third and first quartile
Measure of variation
The measure that describes the distribution of a data set.
First quartile
The median of the lower half.
Third quartile
The median of the upper half.
