Tarsals

7 bones that make up the foot. Calcaneus, talus, navicular, intermediate cuneiform, medial cuneiform, lateral cuneiform, cuboid.

Anterior Superior Iliac Spine

A bony projection of the iliac bone and important landmark of the body.

Pubic Symphysis

A cartilaginous joint that joins the connects the pubic bones.

Lesser Sciatic Notch

A smaller notch on the posterior margin of the ischium, below the ischial spine and above the superior border of the tuberosity.

Ischial Spine

A thin, pointed triangular eminence that projects from the dorsal border of the ischium.

Medial and Lateral Tibial Condyles

At the proximal end, separated by the intercondylar eminence) receive distal end of the femur to form the knee joint.

Lateral Condyle

Distal femur terminates, which articulate with the tibia below. Lateral side.

Medial Condyle

Distal femur terminates, which articulate with the tibia below. Medial side.

Medial Malleolus

Distally, a process that forms the inner bulge of the ankle.

Medial Epicondyles

Epicondyle near the midline, or medial. Above the medial condyle

Pelvic Girdle

Formed by 2 coxal bones.

Patellar Surface

Forms a joint with the patella anteriorly.

Lateral Malleolus

Forms outer part, lateral bulge of the ankle.

Coxal Bones

Hip bones. Each bone is the result of the fusion of three bones, ilium, ischium, and pubis.

Fovea Capitis

In the femur's head, a small central pit, from which a small ligament runs to the acetabulum.

Lateral Epicondyles

Just superior to the condyles, lateral side.

Ilium

Large flaring bone, forms the major portion of the coxal bone.

Greater Trochanter

Large lateral projection at the base of the neck of the femur

Neck of Femur

Located just below the head of the femur. Weakest part of the femur, common fracture site.

Lesser Trochanter

Located on posterior-medial junction of the neck and shaft of the femur

Metatarsals

Numbered 1-5, 1 is the big toe

Fibula

Parallel to the tibia, thin stick like with a sharp anterior crest.

Phalanges

Proximal, middle, distal 1-5

Ischial Tuberosity

Rough, receives the weight of the body when sitting.

Tibial Tuberosity

Roughened protrusion on the anterior tibial surface (just below the condyles).

Iliac Crest

Superior margin of the ilium.

Ischium

The "sit down" bone, forming the most inferior and posterior portion of the coxal bone.

Head of Femur

The ball like head of the femur articulates with the hip bone.

Acetabulum

The cup shaped socket of the hip bone in the pelvis.

Sacroiliac Joint

The joint in the bony pelvis between the sacrum and the ilium of the pelvis which are joined by strong ligaments.

Obturator Foramen

The large opening created by the ischium and pubis bone.

Tibia

The shinbone, the larger and more medial of the two lower leg bones.

Femur

Thigh bone.
