a piece of cake

A job, task or other activity that is easy or simple. Example: The exam was a piece of cake.

a pipe dream

a hope, wish, or dream that is impossible to achieve or not practical Example: Her plans are not realistic - they'll never be more than a pipe dream.

bucket list

a list of the things that a person would like to do or achieve before they die Example: I have so many things on my bucket list yet to do.

push out of your comfort zone

a situation in which you feel uncomfortable and in which your ability and determination are being tested Example: Rock climbing pushes many people beyond their comfort zones.

be hesitant to do sth

do not do something immediately or quickly because you are nervous or not certain Example: You seemed a bit hesitant about recommending that restaurant - is something wrong with it?

make a difference

have an effect on sth, usually a good effect Example: Exercise can make a big difference to your state of health.

to cross off the list

remove from a list Example: Did you cross her name off the guest list?

take a leap of faith

to do sth even though you aren't sure it is right or will succeed Example: It took a big leap of faith to decide to quit my job and try something new.

live life to the fullest

to get the most out of life and enjoy every moment Example: She certainly lives life to the fullest.

exceed your expectations

to go beyond expectations Example: Did the success exceed your expectations when the magazine hit the streets?

be on the same page

to have the same ideas as someone else Example: Everyone in the office has to be on the same page about what our top priorities are.

neglect the present

to not give enough care or attention to people or things that are your responsibility: Example: He neglects that poor dog - he never takes him for walks or gives him any attention.

kick the bucket

to pass away, to die Example: The hamster kicked the bucket last week.

remarkable (adj)

unusual or special and therefore surprising and worth mentioning: Example: The 20th century was remarkable for its inventions.

carpe diem (seize the day)

used for saying that people should enjoy the present rather than worrying about the future Example: I may as well have dessert - carpe diem, right?
