- if the certificate of death or fetal death is incomplete unless the funeral director provides adequate assurance that he complete certificate will be registered - under certain conditions made by the department, if the death occurred from some disease that is deemed to be infectious, contagious, or communicable and dangerous to the public health
When does a burial transit permit travel with a dead body?
Before interring or otherwise disposing of the dead body within the states or when transported to a point outside the state, the permission shall travel with the dead body to its destination
Where is a burial transit permit issued?
By the department or local registrar or subregistrar of the registration district in which the death occurred or the body was found
Who is in charge of maintaining death certificates for manually filed paper death records?
The subregistrar in the licensed funeral or direct disposal establishment is responsible for producing and maintaining certificates
When must a funeral director obtain a burial transit permit?
They must obtain a permit before final disposition and within 5 days after death
Who must the Funeral Director provide the burial transit to?
To the person in charge of the place of final disposition
When can a burial transit permit be given prior to filing a death certificate?
If it results in undue hardship
