-be well rested for class or activity -complete assignments, extra readings, and exercises before class or activity. -focus on what is happening with the lesson, listen/look for key info, ideas -capture key points of power point presentations -ask questions before, during, and after class -make eye contact with the speaker -listen when other students are speaking -seek help when a difficult concept is not understood
