List Box
A list of choices associated with a text box from which the user may choose.
Drop-Down Menu
A list of items that appears immediately below the selected menu.
Help System
A provision with the software that offers a quick way to find information to be used in software.
Window
A rectangular area of the screen in which the software communicates with the user.
Clipboard
A temporary storage area where data may be copied, then pasted elsewhere.
Grid Cells
An arrangement of rows and columns used to enter, edit, or delete data and text.
Business
An economic entity that endeavors to sell goods and services to customers at prices that will pay all the costs of doing business and return a profit to the owners.
Accounting
An informational system that plans, analyzes, records, and reports financial information.
The Explore Accounting System
Used to access data stored by the software in order to perform audit checks, check account activity, isolate errors, and other tasks that are helpful to managing account information.
Web Browser purpose
To find and view information about anything on the World Wide Web.
Menu Bar
A bar displayed continuously on the top line of the screen, showing the menus available.
Toolbar
A bar displayed on the top of the application window that contains icons representing common processing tasks that a user is most likely to perform.
Checkbox
A box located to the left of each of several choices that permits the user to select or deselect the choices.
Tooltips
A brief informational message that automatically appears when the pointer is positioned on a toolbar button.
Command Buttons
A button that initiates an immediate action.
Insertion Point
A character that appears when the mouse pointer is positioned over a text box to mark the current position where data will be entered or edited.

Double-entry Accounting System
Based on recording debit and credit parts of a transaction so that the total dollar amount of debits and total dollar amount of credits equal each other.
Navigation Buttons
Buttons arranged in a vertical column along the left side of the display screen that facilitate fast, efficient, and intuitive movement throughout the account application.
Option Buttons
Buttons representing options, where the selected option contains a filled circle icon and only one option may be selected.

The logical sequence in which the computer expects each text box, option button, or command to be traversed.
Accountant
The occupation of a person who summarizes detailed accounting information, then analyzes and interprets the information to assist owners and managers in making financial decisions.
