List Box

A list of choices associated with a text box from which the user may choose.

Drop-Down Menu

A list of items that appears immediately below the selected menu.

Help System

A box located to the left of each of several choices that permits the user to select or deselect the choices.

Tooltips

A brief informational message that automatically appears when the pointer is positioned on a toolbar button.

Command Buttons

A button that initiates an immediate action.

Insertion Point

A character that appears when the mouse pointer is positioned over a text box to mark the current position where data will be entered or edited.

Double-entry Accounting System

Based on recording debit and credit parts of a transaction so that the total dollar amount of debits and total dollar amount of credits equal each other.

Navigation Buttons

Buttons representing options, where the selected option contains a filled circle icon and only one option may be selected.

The occupation of a person who summarizes detailed accounting information, then analyzes and interprets the information to assist owners and managers in making financial decisions.
