Stage 4: Prototype

- create prototypes that will be tested with users in the next stage - simulates how the solution will work for the final product - clickable series of connected mockups - wireframes: framework of sight, looks & function, not focused on visuals - learn from prototype to spark new ideas (return to ideation stage)

Stage 1: Empathize

- develop empathy for users - observe users interacting with product - identify pleasure and pain points - empathize in order to define the problem (in the next stage)

Stage 2: Define

- find meaning from insights gathered from empathizing w/ user - frame the challenge/define the problem - think broadly - analyze & synthesize observations to identify problems - do so in a human-centric way

Stage 3: Ideate

- generate ideas & unconventional solutions to the identified problems - brainstorming, mind mapping, sketches, user flow, user stories, story boards, mood boards

Stage 5: Test

- usability testing / test prototype - gain feedback - adjust to fix identified problems - testing creates new ideas for the project (return to ideation stage) - creates insights that define the problem (return to define stage) - learn about users (return to empathize stage)

5 stages

1) Empathize 2) Define 3) Ideate 4) Prototype 5) Test
