Flex Cuffs

Description Flexible handcuffs used to restrain an individual. Stowage Locations and Quantity •A320/A321: Aft RH overhead bin (w/Megaphone) 2 pair •E190: Aft RH doghouse (with Megaphone) - 2 pair Preflight Ensure restraints are present.

Life Lines 9.3.10

Description: Rope-Like devices that can be attached to the aircraft and used to assist as a handhold at a window exit during an evacuation. Preflight: •A320-Ensure life lines present. •E190-No Preflight Operation: A320 1. Remove line from storage location and package. 2. Attach one end to fitting inside the window frame. 3. Attach the other end to the yellow eyelet on the wing. E190 1. Grasp and pull line from window frame. 2. Attach to the fitting on the wing.

Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT)

Description: Sends a signal used by emergency responders to locate aircraft wreckage in the event of a remote emergency landing/ditching. Preflight: Ensure ELT is present. Operation: HONEYWELL ELT Salt Water Operation 1. Remove from storage location and bring to raft. 2. Attach lanyard to lifeline on raft and toss overboard. 3. Operation is automatic; ensure antenna deploys upright. Fresh Water or Land Operation 1. Remove from storage location and take when leaving aircraft. 2. Open the salt electrolyte package and mix with water. 3. Wet ELT to activate by inserting battery end of the ELT into the salt water mix. ELTA ELT Operation 1. Remove from storage location and take when leaving aircraft. 2. Remove from stowage bag, if applicable. 3. Remove foam padding, if applicable. 4. Move toggle switch to the ON mode to activate. Water Operation Only: Attach lanyard to a lifeline on raft. Duration/Range Honeywell ELT has an operation life of 48 hours by water-activated battery. ELTA ELT has an operation life of 72 hours.

Safety Demo Kit 9.3.16

Description: To demonstrate equipment used for Customer safety. Preflight: Ensure kit contains: • • • One seatbelt extension • One demo oxygen mask • One demo life vest Operation: (Taken from Taxi-Out Safety Briefing 3.8.3) 1. When instructed in the Taxi-Out Safety Briefing, place the Inflight Entertainment System (IFE) on STANDBY (LTV 2.0) or PAUSE (LTV 4.0). 2. Conduct Taxi-Out Safety Briefing (Refer to the Station Assignment Charts): i. Review the Safety Information Card ii. Demonstrate the operation of the seatbelt iii. Demonstrate use of the Life Vest iv. Show the location and use of the oxygen system 3. Ensure Customers with special needs have been individually briefed on the components of the Taxi-Out Safety Briefing. •Give special attention to Customers with infants or small children, Customers with disabilities, and unaccompanied minors Operation of the Safety Demo Kit is described in Taxi-Out Safety Briefing .

Halon Extinguishers 9.3.9

Description: To extinguish all classes of fire. Discharge lasts 6-10 seconds. Preflight • Ensure pressure gauge needle registers within green band. • Ensure Safety Catch (copper wire) is intact (located in handle to prevent inadvertent release of trigger) or pin is in place Note Inflight Crewmembers are not responsible for the preflight of the Flight Deck extinguisher. Operation: 1. Stand at least 8 feet from fire. 2. Pull back safety catch to break copper wire or pull pin. 3. Aim at base of fire. 4. Squeeze operating lever. 5. Use sweeping motion with constant flow.

Manual Release Tool (MRT) 9.3.13

Description: To manually open dispensing unit (oxygen) in the event of automatic release latch malfunction. Preflight: Ensure MRT is present. Operation: Insert pin end or flat end, as necessary, into dispensing unit to release cover and expose masks.

Life Vests 9.3.11

Description: To provide a means of flotation to Customers and crew. Life vests are equipped with an emergency locator light. Preflight: Ensure presence of Life Vests located in stowage compartments and under jumpseats. Operation: 1. Remove from pouch. 2. Ensure red inflation tabs/blow tubes in front. 3. Pull vest overhead. 4. Wrap strap around waist. 5. Attach buckle into the fitting at the bottom front of vest and pull loose end to tighten. 6. Pull red tabs on both sides at bottom to inflate; inflate orally by blowing into tubes on both sides. Note: Customer Vest ONLY: Pull only one red tab to inflate vest for a small child.

Manual Life Rafts with Survival Kit 9.3.12

Description: To provide flotation in the event of a ditching. •A321 Mint (32S) - 6 Man Life Raft with 9 persons overload capacity •A321 Core (321) - 36 Man Life Raft with 54 persons overload capacity •A321 NEO Core (3N1) - 36 Man Life Raft with 54 persons overload capacity •A320 (32M) - 6 Man Life Raft with 9 persons overload capacity •E190 (E90) - 36 Man Life Raft with 54 persons overload capacity See Survival Kit for Survival Kit contents. Preflight: Ensure lacing is intact. Operation: 1. Remove raft from stowage location. 2. Insert Snap Hook located at the end of the mooring line through the handle next to the placard labeled "Life Raft Attachment Point" and reattach to the mooring line. If placard is not present, attach mooring line to a Fuselage Assist Handle. 3. Throw raft into water. 4. Jerk the Pull Handle hard to inflate raft.

Fire Resistant Gloves (Hot Gloves)

Description: •To provide an increased level of protection when responding to lithium battery or Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) fires and overheating events. •One pair in each of the following stowage locations: ◦All Aircraft: Flight Deck ◦A321: G1 Galley in emergency equipment compartment (with Survival Kits) ◦A320: G1 Galley in emergency equipment compartment (with Survival Kits) ◦E190: Fwd LH Stowage Unit Preflight: Ensure gloves are present. Operation: •Remove from package and don gloves. •Follow firefighting procedures in Specific Cabin Fire Fighting Procedures, when handling smoking, overheating, or burning PED events. Note Inflight Crewmembers should never handle a burning device without first donning Fire Resistant Gloves.

Crash Ax 9.3.1

Description: To be used as a tool in emergency situation such as: •To gain access for firefighting by puncturing/tearing aircraft wall panels. •To chop/cut through fuselage to provide escape. Insulated handle to protect from electrical current. Preflight: No Preflight Operation: Obtain permission from Flight Deck Crew to use and advise of situation requiring its use.

Escape Ropes

Description: To be used to evacuate the aircraft from the Flight Deck window. Preflight-No Preflight Operation: 1. Open window in the Flight Deck. 2. Obtain rope from stowage compartment. 3. Throw rope out of the Flight Deck window. 4. Evacuate out of the Flight Deck window using the rope to lower body to the ground.

Emergency Flashlight 9.3.4

Description: To direct, signal, and provide visual help in emergency situations only Preflight: Tan Flashlight • Ensure red indicator light flashes every 8‐10 seconds. • Ensure plastic strap intact. Black Flashlight • Ensure red indicator light is solid and facing outward. • Ensure flashlight is intact in bracket. Operation Tan Flashlight 1. Pull off plastic cover (may be red or clear). 2. Pull flashlight out of bracket. 3. Light will activate automatically. Black Flashlight 1. Pull flashlight out of bracket. 2. Turn on using switch on handle.

Biohazard Kit 9.4.2

Description: To provide equipment for personal protection and clean-up of potentially contaminated body fluids. It includes but is not limited to: face mask, protective gown, CPR mask. Preflight: Ensure red plastic seal intact Operations: Use contents as needed.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) 9.4.1

Description: To restore normal heart rhythm following cardiac arrest. Preflight: Ensure indicator light is flashing and displays below image: •FR2: Hourglass •FRX: Green LED Battery Insertion Test (BIT) If indicator is not flashing or does not display above image, notify Flight Deck and attempt to complete a Battery Insertion Test (BIT) by removing and re-installing battery. If indicator does not display above image after BIT, install spare battery (if present). Operation: 1. Press green ON/OFF button to turn on. 2. Follow screen/voice prompts. 3. Apply pads to bare chest. 4. Plug in connector next to flashing light. (FR2) FRX pads are pre‐connected.)

Slides 9.3.18

Description: Used to facilitate the evacuation of Customers and crew during an emergency evacuation. Located at: •A321 - Mid Cabin Doors •A320/A321 NEO Core - Trailing edge of wings •E190 - All doors Preflight: N/A Operation: The slide deploys automatically within 4 to 6 seconds. Slide Operation Differences are highlighted in Slide Operation Differences.

Seatbelt Extensions 9.3.2

Description: •Provides an extension to Customer seatbelts in the event more length is needed. •Disables airbag in equipped seats. Preflight: Ensure extension is present. Operation: Attach fittings to seatbelt on Customer seat and pull loose end to tighten. Seatbelt extenders may never be connected to a jumpseat harness.

Protective Breathing Equipment (PBE) 9.3.15

Description: To protect from smoke inhalation and toxic fumes when fighting a fire in-flight. Preflight: Draeger Ensure external white tape on side is intact: • If white tape is not intact, look through inspection window and ensure yellow serviceability indicator is intact. Air Liquide Ensure protective seal is intact and operational indicator is green (operational) Red indicates not operational. Operation: Draeger 1. Grasp access handle on plastic cover and pull forcibly to open cover. 2. Open vacuum-sealed bag by pulling the red tag or tearing at the indicated ends of the bag, as applicable. 3. Place hands, palms together, inside rubber neck seal opening with PBE visor facing downward and separate to enlarge opening. 4. Slip rubber neck seal overhead without hair and clothes protruding between seal and neck. 5. Pull lanyard at bottom of apron. 6. Tie securing straps under apron and around waist. Duration/Range Duration is approximately 15 minutes. Air Liquide If PBE is located in headrest, pinch the locking mechanism on top of headrest and pull downward on headrest to access the PBE. 1. Ensure the indicator is in the operating position. 2. Hold the case in one hand on the handle marked 1 "Lift" or by the black handle. 3. With the other hand, pull sharply on the gray part of the cover marked 2 "Pull" to break the protective seal. 4. Take the vacuum-packed hood out of the case. 5. Pull off one of the tear-off strips. 6. Holding the O2 container with both hands through the fabric, turn the hood downwards in one clean movement. 7. Put your thumbs on the orange marks and open the black collar at the base of the hood. 8. Put the hood over your head, starting from the back. All hair must be in the hood and must not stick out of the bottom of the hood. 9. Breathe normally. 10. When the noise of oxygen flow stops the wearer must remove the hood. Removal of PBE Post-use (All Models) 1. Proceed to area away from fire to avoid re-ignition of residual oxygen. 2. Place hands under neck seal and pull up, guiding PBE over head. 3. Brush hair with hands to break down buildup of oxygen. 4. Place used PBE in a safe place to cool (away from fire or water exposure).

Slide/Raft 9.3.17

Description: Dual lane Slide/Raft at each Main Cabin Door on A320/A321 aircraft to facilitate the evacuation of Customers and crew during an emergency evacuation. • Seating capacity of 44 Customers with an overload capacity of 55 Customers Preflight: N/A Operation: The Slide/Raft deploys automatically in approximately 5-8 seconds when the armed exit door is opened from the inside. Opening the exit door from the outside automatically disarms the Slide/Raft. To Disengage Slide/Raft: Lift the Girt Flap, pull the white disengage handle and cut the mooring line using the raft knife. Leave approximately 8 feet of line. Slide/Raft Additional Information Slide/Raft Features •Two inflation chambers with an aspirator for each chamber •Life lines •Heaving line •Boarding aids •Sea anchor •Locator lights •Raft knife - Used to cut the mooring line •Emergency Lighting - mounted down the sides of the •Slide/Raft and across the bottom tube, which works independently from the aircraft systems. •Red Manual Inflation Handle - Pull when the automatic inflation of the Slide/Raft fails during land evacuations or at all times when opening the door in emergency mode in a ditching. •White Disengage Handle - Raise the Girt Flap to access. The White Disengage Handle is used (pull) to detach the Slide/Raft from the Girt Bar. •Mooring Line - Raise the Girt Flap to access. The mooring line holds the Slide/Raft to the aircraft and can be cut by the raft knife. Slide/Raft Repositioning Procedure If a door becomes inoperative, its slide can still be used and could be critical in the evacuation and survival of passengers by disconnecting, carrying, and reattaching it to another floor level exit. To move a Slide/Raft to another floor level exit, the IFC will: 1. Ensure door is in the Armed mode. 2. Remove lower door liner by pulling sides inboard to release side spring clips located at bottom of cover. 3. Pull inward and up at bottom of the cover to disengage dual lock fasteners and clips at top. 4. To remove slide pack from door, follow the directions stenciled on the pack: i. Release girt bar from door sill by pulling yellow lanyard below the pack in a direction of 45 degrees aft. ii. Pull red handles on top. iii. Grasp sides of slide pack and lift the unit off the door mountings. iv. Disconnect the wire harness behind the slide pack by turning the connector counterclockwise. v. Carefully lay pack flat on floor. vi. Keep girt bar on top of pack to avoid inflation in the cabin. 5. Move the Slide/Raft to another door by: Carrying it to the other exit with side up (marked "THIS SIDE FACING UP"). Two strong individuals are needed to carry it; the straps are located on side of slide. 6. Connect the Slide/Raft to the new door: Original Slide/Raft at usable door must have already been detached from the aircraft. i. Place Slide/Raft in front of door with metal part on top and girt bar facing outboard ii. Remove existing girt bar by pressing release mechanism and lifting bar out of brackets. iii. Insert girt bar from Slide/Raft into fittings. 7. Inflate Slide/Raft by pushing Slide/Raft through doorway and then pulling Red Manual Inflation Handle.

Customer Wheelchair Stowage Kit

Description: To safely and securely store Customer's wheelchair in the aircraft cabin. Preflight: Ensure kit is present. Operation: A320/A321 Core Refer to inside of stowage compartment door for operation instructions. E190 Refer to installation instructions sewn in the inner lining of the kit or on a laminated card located in the kit's stowage compartment.

Megaphone 9.3.14

Description: To communicate and signal. Preflight: Press button on handle and listen for amplification. Operation: Federal Signal 1. Hold megaphone close to mouth. 2. Press button on handle and speak normally into mouthpiece. 3. To project louder, hold closer to mouth and away to project softer. ACR Electronics 1. Hold megaphone close to mouth. 2. Squeeze handle which will flex slightly activating the megaphone. 3. Volume may be adjusted via volume control knob. Note Megaphone is equipped with a siren and is activated when the alarm plug pin is removed. There are no procedures for use of this feature.

Emergency Medical Kit (EMK) 9.4.3

Houses advanced medical supplies to be used by medical professionals or Inflight Crewmembers when authorized. It includes items such as: stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs, common over-the-counter medications, needles. Operation Small Exterior Pocket •JetBlue Inflight Crewmembers •Any qualified medical personnel Large Pocket •MD or DO with credentials without MedLink authorization •Anyone authorized by MedLink Replenishment •MD or DO and Flight Deck Crew verify quantities of medications used. •Technical Operations will replace EMK In the absence of a licensed medical professional, an IFC may be authorized by MedLink to administer certain contents of the EMK while under the direction of a MedLink physician.

First Aid Kit (FAK) 9.4.4

Houses items used to provide basic first aid supplies for injuries. It includes items such as: bandages, swabs, scissors, gloves. Use contents as needed with medical and first aid situation. •If available, attempt to use bandages and other supplies in the Med Pack for minor first aid situations prior to opening the FAK; the Med Pack is located in the Provisioning Kit. Note Provisioning Kit locations are indicated in Galley Pack-out diagrams.

Med Pack

Provides items for responding to minor first aid incidents. It includes items such as: antibiotic ointment for minor cuts, bandages, non-latex gloves, wipes.

Onboard Wheelchair 9.4.5

To transport Customers who are non-ambulatory to and from the lavatory.

Survival Kit 9.3.19

Used to provide items useful for survival in a land or water emergency, which includes but is not limited to: flashlight, whistle, signal flare, first aid items, utility knife. Preflight: Ensure kit is present. Operation: A320/A321 Operation Planned Ditching 1. Place on floor forward of applicable exit. 2. Pull white lanyard to forward side of slide pack. 3. Attach lanyard to snap hook on Survival Kit. 4. Pull lanyard to retrieve Survival Kit from water and place in Slide/Raft. A320/A321 Operation Unplanned Ditching 1. IFC retrieves Survival Kit after Customers have evacuated. 2. IFC brings Survival Kit into Slide/Raft upon evacuation. A320/A321 Operation Planned Ditching 1. Place on floor forward of applicable exit. 2. Pull white lanyard to forward side of slide pack. 3. Attach lanyard to snap hook on Survival Kit. 4. Pull lanyard to retrieve Survival Kit from water and place in Slide/Raft. A320/A321 Operation Unplanned Ditching 1. IFC retrieves Survival Kit after Customers have evacuated. 2. IFC brings Survival Kit into Slide/Raft upon evacuation.

Portable Oxygen Bottle (POB) 9.4.6

Used to supply oxygen in medical situations or during a decompression. Remove lipstick or lip gloss. 2. Turn valve fully to left. 3. Ensure oxygen is flowing through mask. 4.
