An arch flash is the explosion that happens when a short circuit or ground fault, from a circuit. it is hotter than the sun and throws tiny hot balls of copper.

Some older buildings aren't built, wired, or designed for increase in electrical use thus hazarding fire due to overload or improper use of additional wiring.

Not necessarily, because the jolt can cause you to jump/pull back and injure yourself or drop some tool that will create an arc flash.
