Range Finder

This allows you to check which cells are referenced in the formula assigned to the active cell. It also allows you to make immediate changes to the cells referenced in a formula

Point Mode

This allows you to select cells for use in a formula by using the mouse. This is an alternative to entering the formulas in cells by keyboard

Floating Dollar Sign

This appears immediately to the left of the first digit with no spaces between it and the first digit and is displayed in the Currency Style

Accounting Style Format

This format is used to append a dollar sign to a number. Excel displays this format with a dollar sign to the left of the number, inserts a comma every three positions to the left of the decimal point, and displays numbers to the nearest cent (hundredths place).

Max Function

This function displays the highest value in a range

Min Function

This function displays the lowest (minimum) value in a range

Average Function

This function sums the numbers in the specified range and then divides the sum by the number of cells with numeric values in the range

Condition

This is made up of two values and a relational operator. It can be either true or false for each cell in a range. If it is true, then Excel applies the formatting. If it is false, then Excel does not apply the formatting.

Debugging

This is the process of finding and correcting errors in the worksheet.

Conditional Formatting

This lets you apply formatting that appears only when the value in a cell meets conditions that you specify. This is powerful because the cell's appearance can change as you enter new values in the worksheet. It is used to make cells and ranges stand out and raise attention.

Best Fit

This means that the width of the column will be increased or decreased so that the widest entry will fit in the column

Comma Style Format

This style format is used to instruct Excel to display numbers with commas and no dollar signs. It can be assigned to a range of cells by clicking the Comma Style button. This inserts a comma every three positions to the left of the decimal point and causes number to be displayed to the nearest hundredths.

Formula

This tool can be added to a cell and Excel will calculate the result

Formulas Version

This version of a worksheet shows the actual formulas you have entered, rather than the resulting values.

Values Version

This version of a worksheet shows the results of the formulas you have entered, rather than the actual formulas.

A prewritten formula that is built into Excel

Fixed Dollar Sign

Excel displays this when you use the Accounting Number Format with this to the far left in the cell, often with spaces between it and the first digit

first negation (-), all percentages (%), all exponentiations (^), all multiplications (*) and divisions (/), all additions (+) and subtractions (-)

This is the trace error and it lists error-checking options following the assignment of an invalid formula to a cell
