Hollywood Flat
A flat in which the framing members are on edge; the corners of the flat are end to face (as opposed to end to edge). There are no cornerblocks or keystones. The 1x4 is directly stapled together
stile
The long sides of flats. made of 1x4. Subtract width of rails from length of stiles
Keystones
rectangle of luan that is stabled to hold a stile and toggle together. Has 2 dice on 5 pattern of stapling
Toggles
the horizontal center pieces of a flat frame made out of 1x4. in between stiles. Subtract width of stiles
rails
the two shorter, horizontal top and bottom pieces of a flat frame. made out of 1x4. subtract width of rails from length of stiles
Standard stage flat
the type of nearly 1 dimensional flat we made in stage craft. Has to supported but something else. 1x4 is end to edge
Cornerblocks
triangle pieces of luan on the corners of flats to hold rails and stiles together. Has 11 staples total
