Fluid Mechanics
Rotational flow
a flow is rotational if the fluid particles while moving in the direction of flow rotate about their mass centres
laminar flow
a type of flow inwhich individual particles do not cross on another and move along well defined paths
Irrotational flow
the fluid particles don't rotate about their mass centres
Langrangian method
the method that is the study of the behavior one particle in the fluid during motion
Eulerian Method
the observer concentrates on apoint in the fluid system
steady flow
the type of flow in which the fluid characteristics like velocity etc at apoint do not change with time
One dimensional flow
the type of flow inwhich the flow parameter such as velocity is a function of time and one space co-ordinate only.
The method of motion of fluid particles are ............................. and ....................................
1. Langrangian and Eulerian methods
Turbulent flow
A type of flow in which particles move in a zig zag way
Fluid Kinematics
It deals with the velocity and acceleration of the particles of fluids in motion and their distribution in space without considering any force
Incompressible Flow
It is that type of flow in which density is constant for the fluid flow .
Compressible fow
It is that type of flow in which the density of the fluid changes from point to point .
Three dimensional flow
It is that type of flow in which the velocity is a function of time and three mutually perpendicular directions
Two dimensional flow
The flow in which the velocity is a function of time and two rectangular space coordinates
Unsteady Flow
The type of flow in which the fluid characteristics like velocity, pressure, density, etc. at a point change with respect to time.
Non Uniform flow
The type of flow in which the velocity at any given time changes with respect to space
Uniform Flow
The type of flow that does not change with respect to space
