Relation

A relation is a set of ordered pairs.

Function

A function is a special relation that has a rule that establishes a mathematical relationship between two quantities, called the input and the output. For each input, there is exactly one output

Function Notation

A function is a way to name a function that is defined by an equation. In function notation, the y in the equation is replaced with f(x)

Arithmetic Sequence

A sequence which has a constant difference between its terms.

Explicit Formula

Explicit Formula is a formula that allows direct computation of any term for a sequence.

Recursive Formula

Recursive Formula is a formula that requires the computation of all previous terms in order to find the value of a numbered term.

Sequence

Sequence is a list of numbers set apart by commas.

Dependent Variable

The dependent variable is the variable in a relation with a value that depends on the value of the independent variable (input).

Domain

The domain is the collection of all input values.

Independent Variable

The independent variable is the variable in a function with a value that is subject to choice.

Range

The range is the collection of all output values.
