Stienbeck uses peoples names to give them a glimpse of their personalty, but he keeps it simple for george, as 'milton' is an ordinary name.

George is a selfless character '..' When george shoots lennie, he did it for the good of lennie. It shows loyalty as he knows it would be nicer him shooting him than curley shooting him painfully 'in the guts'

George is good at reading people '..' He seed CW as a treat, just like the girl in weed. CW is a threat and steinbeck shows it through the colour of red. This may mean lennie could get into trouble, which he does, and therefore george will be thrown under the bus too.

George is protective over his bestfriend lennie '..' He knows that people will judge him so he says '..' And wants to secure a safe place for if lennoe ever gets into trouble

Slim-> 'Iike a kid' 'That mouse aint fresh lennie'

George is resposible for lennie, as hes '..'. He has to help he stay out of trouble, like with the girl in weed, but also over the littlest of things like mice '..'

Having said that, george dedp down doesnt want to be alone like everyone else '..' He depends on lennies friendship, as no one else can give it him.

' our own place were we belonged'

Like any other person in 1930's america, everyone had a dream, george wanted '..' ( meaning their own ranch) where he could have a better time and keep lennie safe.

'Gonna tangle with that b*stard'

Thats why also george fears hes '..' When curley acts asgressive towards them.

' i think i knowed we'd never get her'

aswell as being dreamy, george is also realistic '..' This shows that he knows lennie inside out and knew eventually, he would get in trouble, therfore makkng the dream inpossible, but he kept the dream going for lennies sake, as it made him happy, which shoes true friendship.
