Each hole has a designated number of strokes possible. Varies from 3-5 strokes depending on difficulty of course and distance of the hole from the tee.

If the ball lies in or is lost in a water hazard, the player may drop a ball (with penalty or one stroke) either as near as possible to the point from which the ball was played.

Object of the game

To hit the ball off the tee, up the fairway, to the putting green, and into the hole with fewest strokes possible.

Provisional ball

To save time, when a ball is out of bounds or lost a player may another ball from as near as possible to where original ball was played.

Used to strike the ball and make it fly high
