How did the election in 1908 and 1912 work?
Roosevelt decided not to run in 1908 and he chose Taft for the Republican party. Taft easily won the vote in1908 and his administration won more antitrust cases than Roosevelt. Roosevelt decided to run against Taft in 1912. They both had many supporters in their party. Taft won the primary. Roosevelt was upset saying that the Republican party stole the nomination from him. He decided to form the Progressive Party, Bull Moose Party. This split the republicans and the fighting allowed the Democrat, Woodrow Wilson, to slip in and win the 1912 election. Wilson won the most electoral votes.
What did Teddy first target?
They Northern Securities Company, a railroad monopoly. They were guilty of illegal trade and were ordered to take the trust apart.

Youngest president at the time; labeled a progressive. Won the Republican Vice President in 1900 and less than a year later, he was the president because McKinley was assassinated. First environmental president.
