How to Create a Study Set on Quizlet

You can enter long lists of terms from Word, Excel, Google Docs, other spreadsheet programs or digital documents, by importing them into Quizlet all at once without having to retype them all.

Click on "Import from Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc." and follow the directions.

You can make it so that nobody but you can edit your set.

Click on "editable by everyone"/change, and follow the directions.

You can make it so that nobody can see your set except for your parents and you.

Click on "visible to everyone" /change, and follow the directions.

Add photos and pictures

Click on the little square dark grey icon with the white mountains on it. If you don't see the right picture, scroll to the right. If you still don't see a good one, you can upload your own photograph.

Add definitions

Click on the word, "definition" under the line, and some suggestions will appear. If you like one of them, click on it, but if not, you can type your own or copy and paste a good definition from an online dictionary.

choose a language

Click under the line where the microphone icon is, and choose the language of your terms and the language of your definitions. These can be two different languages.

You can make your own set of folders to organize your sets.

Don't forget to save your newly-created set by clicking on Done.

Keep the definitions as simple as possible so that you can remember them more easily.

Keep them simple but don't omit critical information.

For example, if you are studying science and you need to remember information about dinosaurs or fossils, you can find sets of information about dinosaurs or fossils that someone already created. Just add them to your folders and customize them for your purposes.

Quizlet is about sharing information and educating people!

If you have a set of information for which others may have already created a set, then search for your information in Quizlet to see if someone already entered a sufficiently good set that you can use.

You can just borrow their set, or you can customize it to make it just right for your needs; but you should rename it something slightly different if you customize it.
