Subsistence agriculture- is the self-sufficiency farming in which the farmers focus on growing enough food to feed themselves and their families. Commercial farming- includes livestock production and livestock grazing. Mass production of food to sell to others for money.

TYPES OF SUBSISTENCE AG---- Shifting the moving of planting from place to place to place providing crops and better land. Slash and burn- clear out vegetation and burn the debris. Pastoral nomadism- extensive agriculture (uses little inputs on vast areas of land) intensive subsistence agriculture- more input of labor and materials relative per area. TYPES OF COMMERCIAL AG---- mixed crop and livestock farming- feed for livestock, crop rotation, dairy farming, milk shed, near urban areas. Grain farming- grain seed from various grasses like wheat, corn, oats, barely, rice. Livestock ranching. Mediterranean crops- south Europe, North Africa, and western Asia. Commercial gardening and fruit farming. Plantation farming.

Textile work is often apparel spinning, weaving, and assembly (easy things). Therefor it requires less skilled workers, low cost workers.
