what is an answer file?
a simple text file that contains all of the instructions that the windows setup file will need to install and configure the OS without any administrator intervention including product key
unattended installation
an automated installation method that is most often used to roll out an installation or upgrade of the operating system to multiple systems and with minimal user interaction
remote network installation
copies of the necessary operating system installation files are placed on a server that supports remote installations and an administrator can remotely initiate the installation over the network onto one or more client computers
multiboot
duel boot refers to installing more than one operating system on a machine
image deployment
provides a rapid way to install a standardized version of an operating system on one or more target computers
repair installlation
used to fix or repair the operating system that is currently installed on the computer and is experiencing issues
clean install
used to install the operating system on a brand new computer or to replace the operating system on an older computer in which the hard drive has been completely wiped
upgrade
used when an operating system is already installed, but the user needs or wants a newer version of the operating system
recovery
with a non-destructive refresh, you can repair an installation without disrupting any of the settings, data files, or installed software
