Veto of Clay's Bill for a Third Bank of the US

Tyler vetoed Clay's proposal for a third bank of the us, angering the whig party. Ultimately, the Whig party expelled Tyler for after his continuous vetoing of the Bank.

Annexation of Texas 3 days before Tyler leaves office(1845)

After becoming very unpopular with the Whig party for his use of vetoes, Tyler tried to gain favor by being in support of the Annexation of Texas into the Union

Preemption Act (1841)

Allowed for people living on federal lands to buy the land for cheaper prices before the land was able for purchase for the general public

Resignation of entire cabinet (except for Webster)

His entire cabinet resigned in response to him vetoing the installment of a third national bank.

Webster-Ashburton Treaty (1842)

Resolves issues over borders between the United States and British North American colonies. Near Maine and Canada. Banned Slave trade on the ocean
