(0.8ml/(Xml) * (1ml) / (0.4ml) = (0.8)/(0.4) = 2ml Answer: 2ml
The order is 150ml to be infused at 25gtts/min. The drop factor is 20gtts/ml. How long will it take for all the 150ml to be infused?
(150ml * 20gtts) / (25 min) = 3000/25 = 2 hrs. Answer: 2 hrs
The prescription reads 500mg q12h x 10d. The medication is available in 250mg tabs. How many tablets will be dispensed?
(500mg) / (X tab) * (1 tab) / (250mg) = 500/250 = 2 tabs Q12h = every 12 hours = twice daily 2 tabs * 2 daily = 4 tabs a day 10d = 10 days 4 tabs * 10 day = 40 tabs total dispensed Answer: 40
The pharmacy receives an order for Augmentin 500mg TID. This medication is available 125mg/5ml. What is the volume of Medication to be given with each dosage?
(500mg) / (Xmg) * (5ml) / (125mg) = 2500/125 = 20ml Answer: 20ml
What is 212 degree Fahrenheit in Celsius?

Convert weight [lbs o 2.2 = kilograms] or [kg * 2.2 = pounds] 54lbs / 2.2 = 24.5kg = 25kg (25kg)/(Xmg) * (1mg)/(1kg) = 25mg Answer: 25mg

The age and weight of the patient is irrelevant to the question. Keep in mind, sometimes more information is given than is required for the equation. (100mcg)/(Xml) * (0.6ml)/(120mcg) = 60/120 = 0.5ml Answer: 0.5ml

This uses Young's rule: Formula is: (Age in years / (Age in years + 12)) * (Average adult dose) 2yrs = (2 / (2 + 12)) * (500) = 71.4 Answer: 71.4mg
