MELTWATER INTERVIEW Q'S
SOME STRENGTHS?
- Enthusiastic - approach everything with a really positive attitude and mindset - Versatile - super go with the flow and can deal with changes - Persistent - when I have my mind on something I wont really stop till I get it. - Intuition --
What do you do for fun outside of work?
- For fun I listen to a lot of music and I got to a lot of concerts. I really like art, design & fashion so im always going thrift shopping or doodling or going to galas and different events like that. I love being outside, the beach is like my second home when when it comes down to it you know theres nothing really better than spending a sunny day with some people you love. - Last person I saw in concert? Phoenix at red rocks.
How would you define your role as a leader/team player?
- LEADER -It comes pretty naturally to me. I grew up the eldest of 5 with 4 yonger brothers so I think that's when it all kind of started but you know ive done things like been the captian of my soccer team ,started recycling at my highschool, was assistant social chair in my sorirty and held a management position in college but did all those things not with the intention to be a leader but just going about my life - TEAM PLAYER - So ive learned to deal with all sorts of people, you know ones who are really awesome to work with but then also ones who can be a little more frustrating or hard headed but with that being said ive learned you have to be able to apadt to whatever is thrown your way even if its not your cup of tea and u know, try to enjoy that tea for what it is.
In 30 sec-3 MINS describe something that you are passionate about. Make us feel that passion, be descriptive. Talk about your passion
- Music. It can make you sad, happy, nostalgic but it can bring you to back to a certain moment in time or make you dream of something that hasn't even happened. Its a universal thing and theres all different genres for all types of people which i think can relate back to a persons personality and whats happening in their head. You know, They say your heart rate gets faster and you physically react to the element of music. And theres even music therapy which helps people deal with a lot fo their problems with the simple cure of a song. And i knwo personally music is the end all be all that gets me through work outs and driving in the car and riding on the subway. When you put your headphones in and silence out the res tof the world, your life really can kinda seem like a movie. My dad and I love shooting philosophical questions back and forth and one that he always asks me if I had to pick to me blind or dead and I always have a hard time but tell him as much beauty as there is in the world, I don't think I could live the res tof my life without hearing music.
Who do you think knows you best? What would that person say is something we should worry about with you?
- Oh, probably my best friend morgan. If she had something to worry about with me is that sometimes I don't like talking about or dealing with the more serious stuff. I love a good time and always want to be enjoying what im doing so sometimes I really dred or put off dealing with more serious tasks,
What is the toughest obstacle you've thus far encountered in your life?
- Personally, my parents divorce. It was a really messy one and having 4 younger siblings I kind of had to step up and really be a role model for them and be someone they could count on even though I felt like I wasn't really ready to be that but you know I didn't really have a choice. I had to do what had to be done. So as much as it was really hard, in the end ive found it to have made me a stronger person, developed my leadership skills and helped me grow closer to my brothers. Its all about finding the silver linining in everything.
Walk me through your resume
- So Ive had a good amount of experience in different fields but one thing that kinda held as the common thread that tied them all together was they were all sales oriented and driven. - At my last job I actually worked my way up from sales associate to supervisor and then up to manager mainly because I consistently sold more than my coworkers and because I inherently enjoy and am good at sales so you know I formed a lot of relationships with customers that would come in which I think really makes all the difference because it has a personal touch. - I always fall back on that famous maya angelou quote - That goes s people will forget what you did or what you said but they don't forget how you made them feel." - So I thin putting that extra effort in when youre making a sale to make sure your clients feel comfortable is an extra touch that goes a long way.
How do you handle pressure and obstacles?
- Very well I think. I don't get stressed out to much and in fact the more load I have the more I tend to get organized and down to the point
SOME WEAKNESSES?
- When I find myself in a new environment I sometimes tend to get a little shy or to speak up but I get comfortable pretty quick its just the initial dipping your toe in the water that can make me get a little shy. - I still get a little shifty with public speaking but when I put in a ton of practice and really know what im talking about I find myself very comfortably talking to a room. - Numbers I get nervous with them because I always struggled in school with math so ive always kind fo have this preconceived notion that im bad at math but ive learned to have a little more faith in myself and always take the precaution to just double check my work especially when its involving numbers to ensure I get it all correct.
