Library of Congress Classification
Bigger libraries, such as university libraries use the library this, which classify books using letters and numbers that are correlated with the subject, title, and author information. This categorize the books into 21 branches of knowledge. Each book in library's collection is assigned a unique call number which is used to divide and arrange books into same subject. Books shelves accordingly to alphabetical and numerical order
Circulation Section
Books in the CS are mostly textbook that cover different subject areas, pocketbook and novel are also found in this section. In general, both nonfiction and fiction books are found in CS. NONFICTION books are based on facts and real-life situation. FICTION books are product of imagination and creativity
Card Catalog
Contains the information about the material you need such as the author's name, title of the book, and the section of the library where you can find the material
New Media
Content organized and distributed on digital platforms
General Reference Section
Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Thesauri, and Almanacs. Books in the GFS are mostly in the library use only

Search
Is a program capable of searching documents in the web using specific key words. It displays a list of websites when key words are entered in the search field. Examples are Google, Bing, Yahoo, I Ask, and AoL. Some researchers know what specific website to visit. What they do is just type in the specific web address on the URL field, URL stands for "Uniform Resource Locator" which refers to a web pages address
Online Public Access Catalog
Libraries of big and well-funded universities use this as they have a large collection of books and other reading materials. This enables the students to access the library's database installed in selected desktops of the library
Print Media
Media consisting of paper and ink, reproduced in a printing process that is traditionally mechanical
Broadcast Media
Media such as radio and television that reach target audiences using airwaves as the transmission medium

Newspaper, Magazines, and Journals are found at the periodical section. These books located in PS are for library use only

Glossary
Some books have a glossary found at the back matters. The glossary provides a list of concepts or terms with its corresponding meaning. It is arranged alphabetically.
Bibliography
The sources which the author used in writing a book appear in the bibliography. Each bibliography entry contains the author's complete name, title of the material, and other publication details. It is almost always found at the book's last page. It is also arranged alphabetically
The Chicago Manual of Styles (CMS)
This citation contains rules on preparing the manuscript for publication including grammar, usage, and documentation. It has two documentation styles; Notes-Bibliography System and Author-Date System
American Psychological Association (APA)
This citation style contains rules for the preparation of manuscripts for writers and students in social sciences, such as psychology, linguistics, sociology, economics, and criminology, business, and nursing
Modern Language Association
This citation styles is commonly used in writing papers and citing sources within liberal arts and humanities, such as English studies, languages and literature, foreign language and literatures, literal criticism, comparative literature, and cultural studies
Dewey Decimal Classification
This classification allows a library to categorize the books accordingly to subject, and shelf it accordingly to relative location and index. Libraries which do not have large volume of books in their collection apply the DDC

Index
You can search for a specific concept, term, or name in the index. These key words are presented with the page numbers where they are mentioned. For the reader's easy reference, the entries in the index are arranged
Subject Catalog
a subject catalog lists book or other materials under the subjects treated and arrange having multiple entries for the same book while others list a single main subject in capital letters on the top of the card for each book in the subject

preferred in social sciences
Author Catalog
the entries for the author catalog are listed by author, editor, nd complier, translator, or other parties considered to have responsibility for the creation or assembly of the work specified.
Title Catalog
the title catalog has entries which are listed by title only. Titles that start with an article like "A, An and THE" should be ignored in searching for the title of the book. In the title catalog, the name of the book is found on top followed by the author's name, publishing information, and the related subjects.
