1.Assess type, location, and intensity of pain before and 1 hr after administration. 2. Assess BP, pulse, and respirations 3. Assess urine output to detect retention 4. Assess bowel function routinely due to constipation

1.Avoid alcohol & other CNS depressants during drug therapy. 2. Take with food to minimize nausea 3. Report shortness of breath or difficulty breathing 4. change position slowely
