مُقدمة

الحَمدُ لِلَّهِ مُصَلِّيًا عَلى

All praise is due to Allah Whilst sending salutations upon

سَمَّيتُهُ بِتُحْفَةِ الأَطْفَالِ

I have named it a gift for the children

أَرْجُو بِهِ أَنْ يَنْفَعَ الطُّلَابَا

I hope that it (the book) will benefit the students

مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَمِنْ تَلاَ

Muhammah, his family and those who follow

فِي النَُّونِ وَالتَّنْوِينِ وَالمُدُودِ

Regarding the (rules of) nun, tanween and the mudud

يَقُولُ رَاجِى رَحْمَةِ الغَفُورِ

Say he who always hopes for the mercy of the oft-Forgiving

وَ بَعْدُ هَذَا النَّظْمُ لِلْمُرِيدِ

Thereafter: this versified text (poetry) is for the student

دَومًا سُلَيمَانُ هُوَ الجَمْزُورِي

Who is Sulaiman Al-Jamzuri

وَالأَجْرَ وَالقَبُولَ وَالثَّوَابَا

and recompense, acceptance and reward

عَنْ شَيخِنَا المِيهِىِّ ذِى الكَمَالِ

transmitting from our Sheikh Al-Mihii, the possessor of perfection
