How did black people liive?

Black people were not considered citizens. They couldn't (non potevano) vote or mix with white people. They had (dovevano) to live in townships (quartieri poveri) where sanitary conditions were terrible.

Then Mandela was accused of treason (tradimento) so he left South Africa. He travelled around Africa and visited England to raise support (raccogliere aiuti) for the armed struggle (lotta armata).
