Middle THAMOs rule

1. When a Thamos interrupts a single thought, place a comma on both sides. 2. When a Thamos falls between two complete thoughts place a semicolon on one side and a comma on the other.

FANBOYS rule

Use commas to separate independent clauses when they are joined by any of these seven coordinating conjunctions: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So

Front THAMOs rule

When a Thamos falls between two complete sentences, it should start after a period or semicolon and be followed by a comma. Ex: Dave likes bananas. However, he wasn't in the mood for one today.

if SWABI is at the beginning, comma after first independent clause

middle SWABIs

no comma (SWABI between 2 independent clauses)

since, when, after, because, if - subordinating conjunctions - join two complete thoughts

therefore, however, also, meanwhile, otherwise - conjunctive adverbs
