One group from that period, which were dissatisfied with the terms of the Peace of Augsburg were the Catholics. The Catholics, which included the Emperor and the Pope, were dissatisfied with the past split in Christianity that the Peace of Augsburg confirmed.

One historical example that supports my explanation is when the King of Spain used religious motives by helping Austria suppress the Protestant religion in the Holy Roman Empire.

One way in which the Thirty Years War became an international struggle was because the rulers/subjects used religious motives to intervene for their country's national religion and defeat their religious rivals, in which each saw themselves as the "true" christian faith.

The Peace of Augsburg was a source of continuity for Lutherans because they were allowed to continue to practice and spread their religion, in addition to that the Lutheran princes/nobles were given the right to officially established Lutheranism as the religion of their territories following the Peace of Augsburg.

The Peace of Augsburg was very significant to Lutherans because it officially recognized and legalized Lutheranism as a religion in the Holy Roman Empire.
