sphenoid (anterolateral) fontanelle
front side of the skull between the sphenoid bone and the parietal bone
coronal suture
the suture between the parietal and frontal bones of the skull
squamous suture
Between parietal and temporal bones
sagital suture
Located on the midline of the skull lies between both parietal bones (immovable joint)
lambdoid suture
between parietal bones and occipital bone
anterior fontanelle
frontal, sagittal, and coronal/ sutures is the largest fontanelle and is placed at the junction of the sagittal suture, coronal suture, and frontal suture; it is lozenge-shaped
posterior fontanelle
is a gap between bones in the human skull, triangular in form and situated at the junction of the sagittal suture and lambdoidal suture
mastoid (posterolateral) fontanelle
one on each side of the head, just beneath the parietal bone and between the front of the occipital bone and the lower rear edge of the temporal bone
