Jesus is the vine, God is the gardener, and the believers are the branches. If the branches do not produce fruit they will be thrown into the fire (hell). If the branches produce fruit (spread the Good News), they will be pruned so they can produce more fruit.
Explain the symbolism behind these words, "Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." (12:24)

Jesus said to leave her alone, that the perfume was meant for His burial. He went on to say that they would always have the poor, but He was only going to be with them for a limited amount of time.

Jesus will send them the Holy Spirit through the Father. The Holy Spirit will testify about Jesus. The apostles were told to testify about Jesus because they were with Him from the beginning.

Jesus would die for the Jewish people and others, and His sacrifice will bring them together and make them as one. (11:52) The implication is that Caiaphas did not say this of his own will, but as part of a prophecy.

Since they (chief priests, Pharisees, etc.) have been exposed to the Good News and have refused to accept it, they have committed sin. If they were never exposed to it, they would not have been guilty of sin.

What two things will the Holy Spirit do for the apostles?
The Holy Spirit will teach them all things, and remind them of everything He said to them.
How was this statement misunderstood? "What you are about to do, do quickly." (13:27)
The apostles did not know that Judas was getting paid to give Jesus over. Some of the apostles thought Jesus was telling Judas to buy something for the festival or give to the poor since Judas was in charge of the money.
What did Isaiah's words help explain?
The division among the Jewish people about Jesus.
Explain what Jesus meant with these words, "Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life." (12:25)
The non-believers will not receive eternal life, whereas the believers will receive it.

They must keep his commandments. The most important one is to love one another like He has loved them.

They were afraid of being kicked out of the synagogues.

They will do greater things than they have already seen because He is going to the Father. He will do whatever they ask in His name so that the Father will be glorified in the Son.
Who is the "prince of this world"? Why did he come?
This is a reference to the devil. He has no hold over Jesus, and he came so that Jesus can show that He loves the Father and He will do whatever the Father commands of Him.
Jesus said, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up." (11:11) Why is this an example of verbal irony? Explain.
Verbal irony is when you say one thing but mean something else. Jesus meant that Lazarus was dead and that He was going to raise him from the dead.
How did Jesus respond when Thomas asked, ""Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" (14:5)?
You will know the way because if you know me you know the Father. You will come to the Father through the Son.
