The chronicles of catastrophe The End Of The World As We Know It Authors: Hailey Matthews, Kaia Joppa, and Jesse Johnson. Main characters: Hailey, Kaia, and Jesse. Side characters: Drake, Steven Antagonists: Stephanie/Trina. Chapter 1. The day started like any other day, except it wasn't. See, the world as we know it was going to end. Our creator was furious with us. See, people in the world stopped trying. They didn't care if they were hurting others, as long as they got something out of it. They didn't want to do good, for they were to busy consuming themselves with anger and envy. They lusted for revenge instead of choosing to forgive. They lied and stole and cheated. They would blame everyone else for their mistakes before they would ever reflect on what they did themselves. It all would have to come to an end. Our creator would have to rid the world of sin. There was no way to prepare for it. Our worlds would collide. The realms were connected by a doorway. The only way to get to one was to for someone to make the sacrifice. But as these days counted down, the doors were going to dissipating, sooner or later. The other realms would become one with ours. And if one were to pass there would be nowhere to go. It all began on March 13, 2020. Me, Kaia, and Johnson (His real name is Jesse but we call him by his last name.) were walking back to our hotel in New York City. We had just finished our dinner at Golden Corral. Kaia was wearing her black jacket with silver trim on it, black sunglasses, blue skinny jeans, and of course her converse. Johnson was wearing his back to the future layered jacket, faded jeans with holes in the knees, and the old-timey Nike sneakers. I was wearing a blue long sleeve shirt with my gray Nike sneakers. Kaia had her hair downwith her all natraul curls blowing in the wind, while I had my short hair down to my shoulders. While we were walking we were deciding on want to do when we got back to our house. Yep, that's right OUR house. While our parents were at work we had the house all to ourselves. Did I mention our parents were all best friends when they were also in school? No, well I guess you know now. "We could play a game." Said Kaia. "What about monopoly?" Suggested Johnson. We all shook our head. "Monopoly is way too long. It would take us all night." I said. "How about a movie?" "How about a Wrinkle In Time?" said Johnson. "Great Idea!" I said. "WHAT IS THAT RUMBLING NOISE?" Screamed Kaia. "What rumbling no-" I began, but I suddenly realized that the ground was shaking. "OMG! THIS FEELS LIKE A CATEGORY 8 EARTHQUAKE!" yelled Johnson. "RUN!" "Hey, Guys! What's going on...." Asked Jrakye approaching us. (jrake is our friend from kindergarten who was poverty level, but after purchasing a lottery ticket had won 6 million dollars)"W-we don't know," Kaia said she was trembling. In front of us, the ground cracked open and with an ear piercing scream, shadows ascended from beneath. One was trying to grab Kaia."nooo!" I screamed, I reached over and turned it to ash with my touch. "GUYS WE HAVE TO RUN TO THE HOUSE!" Johnson said as he grabbed my hand and started running. I grabbed Kaia and Jrakye's hands. As we ran to the house a bright light replaced the sun and we had to cover our eyes. What is happening? Why was this happening? Were we going to die? Those questions remained unanswered in my head as we reached the front door of the house. We entered and locked the door behind us. Just then something from my hall closet came out and grabbed Johnson! IT WAS ANOTHER MONSTER. "HELP!" screamed Johnson. I had no choice. I decided it was the perfect time to use my magical spells to save my friend. I cast the spell and Johnson fell to the ground, with a string of yarn next to him. "What... How... You.." Johnson said, lost with words. "Johnson are you Ok?" I said. "Hailey, how did you do that?" asked Jrakye. "Do what?" I asked. "Hailey, you can't lie. We all know you cast a spell." Kaia said. "Fine... You caught me. I'm a sorcerer." I admitted. "A what?" jrake said. Chapter 2. "A sorcerer," I said a bit louder. "WHAT?!" jrake said again. "A SORCERER!" I YELLED. "WE HEARD THAT, BUT WHAT?!" Johnson screamed, "THOSE ARE JUST MYTHS!" "Myths?" I said surprised. "Did you just call me a myth?" I was now offended. "Yeah. Like in dungeons and dragons." I said. "Now I am offended. Sorcerers are NOT just myths. Come with me to my room and I will teach you guys all you need to know." I said. We all went into my room. Hailey got her spell book out of a box that was sitting at the top of the closet shelf. "DON'T OPEN IT!" I yelled as Johnson was about to open it. "So, about 10,000 years ago, the earth roamed of magical creatures. Unicorns, Elves, Pegasuses, wizards, fairies, angels, yes the angels in heaven it was when they could actually come to earth. Now back to the list giants, goblins, dwarves, mermaids, and pixies... Those were the nice ones." "T-there are mean ones?" asked Johnson. I looked him right in the eyes. "Yes. But let's not get into that it will take too long to list them all. Anyways, about 7000 years ago, God got mad at us for using our powers to create new things that he didn't approve of. So when he asked us to stop... Some of us didn't. So the world ended and a new one began, the one without any magic. Or so he thought. So when he created this new world we had to-" Suddenly, a portal opened and we were all being sucked into it. When we woke up... We were in a dusty shop. We looked outside and it looked like a place that was in the first Harry Potter movie. "Where are we?" Jrakye asked. "The real question is, who opened the book?" I asked. "Guilty," Kaia said. "WHY DID YOU OPEN IT?! I TOLD YOU NOT TO! NOW WE HAVE NO IDEA WHERE WE ARE." I said starting to scream. "Actually, we are in London. Have you not seen Harry Potter?" Johnson said. "Of course I've seen Harry Potter!" I said I was now very angry. Why would Jesse open the portal? I told him not to. "Hailey it's really late. There are some beds in the other room we could sleep in. It doesn't look like anyone is living here." said Jesse. I reluctantly agreed. "Cool! Sleepover buddies!" said jrake. "Oh shut up," said Kaia. "Also, I found a lollipop," said jrake. He was holding what once had been a lemon flavored lollipop. It was covered in mold." oh no Jrake please don't.-he popped it into his mouth-eat that."I said. I shivered."oooh, dude, that is sick, though seriously you should see a doctor," Jesse said. Jrake sucked on it and moaned, a second later he ran to the store's public restroom and threw up."so...what are we going to eat for dinner?" said Jesse." well tweedle dee you could follow tweedle dumb and lose your appetite or you could come with us and have dinner out on the town"said Kaia."Kaia, integrity" I snapped at her."fine, Jesse would you pleeeease join us for dinner".said Kaia." sure, I'm starving," said Jesse. I grabbed myself a jacket from my purse, and handed one to Kaia and Jesse.jrake finished up and walked back into the entry room."Is that a bottomless purse?!" said Jrake from amazement." sort of, it runs off of imagination. If I can think of it, it will supply it ."I handed jrake a jacket, then reached in and pulled out one hundred dollars, "let's go get dinner".Thirty minutes later, we arrived at 204 Kings Way, London, KY (.A.K.A golden corral) We walked in and headed straight for the front desk." how can I help you today?" said the waitress. Carlie was the name on the card."A table for four please"I replied."that will be thirty-four dollars and sixty-three cents."I handed her forty."Do you want me to cash this out?" she asked"no ma'am, you can keep the change."Once we were all settled in we split up and headed to get dished up."I'll handle tweedle dum and you take tweedle dee." said Kaia."Okay" I said. I followed Jesse to the Chinese food area."hey Jesse?"I asked "yes" he replied."why did you open the book?" "What do you mean?" he asked puzzled. Anger filled inside of me. How could he be so careless?"My spell book!The one that sent us all here!The one that sent us 3459 miles away from home!thanks to you opening it, our parents are probably worried sick!"I snapped at him."I didn't open it" he said. The anger brewing inside of me came to an abrupt stop." what?".He turned around and looked me straight in the eye."I didn't touch it" he said. puzzlement filled me."Then who did?"I asked. The line shifted."I don't know" he said."We should probably head back to the others" I said. I picked up my tray and headed back to our table. Out of nowhere approached a girl about my age with sandy blond hair and tan wedges. Her shirt was a white blouse with ankle cut blue jeans. In her hand, she held a notebook. On there was a drawing...a drawing of me.she was staring at me. The color drained from my face. She walked up to me and whispered, as faint as it could be." your her, your the chosen one, your Hailey". When she said my name I nearly dropped my plate." how do you know my name"I said, my voice cracked. I could barely see, barely breathe. Oxygen was barely able to reach my lungs."let's sit down first, then I can explain everything". And with that, she gestured for me to lead, moving aside to my right, never restraining her gaze. I walked to our table.Kaia and drake were already sitting down. I sat across from kaia. A moment later, Jesse appeared. He set his plate down next to mine. "Who's this?" asked Jesse. "This is not a club,beat it." said kaia, clutching a dinner knife. "She's not a club member, she's an acquaintance and she has a drawing of me." She held out the journal enough for everyone to see. It was an exact replica of me. "Okay that's creepy." said Jesse. " "I had a dream" she began. "You were in it the world was going to be destroyed,and you guys were the only one able to fix it." she said. "What's your name?"kaia asked, her death stare slowly dissipating. "Sarah, my name is Sarah." she said. There was a long moment of silence. "Well sarah, would you like to join us for dinner?" I said, trying to break the tension. "Sure!" Within a few minutes, Sarah had dished herself up, and we were all back to normal. The tension had die down. Sarah began telling jrake and jesse about her many travels to Rome, which as you can see was a fascination for them. Kaia butted Jesse out of his seat, launching him across the room. "Beat it." she said. It almost sounded like she was growling. Her death stare was piercing, she plopped her plate down next to me and bounced into the seat. "so,what's up?"she said her voice sounding too cheerful to be true."not much." I said, only half paying attention to her,half paying attention to Jrake who was balancing three plates and a fruit cup on his head."hey hailey,can I talk to you...in private?"she asked,her voice sounding concerned."of course," I replied.We told the others that we needed to be excused to go to the restroom.We hurried off and stopped before the entrance."what's wrong?"I asked my voice slowly growing with concern. She checked to make sure the coast was clear,before she leaned in and whispered in my ear... " It's about sarah,I don't think we can trust her".I jumped back in surprise."what do you mean,do you think she's evil?"I said."I don't know,I just feel like she's hiding something,you know?There's something she's not telling us"said kaia.I took her opinion into consideration."I'll look into it."I said.with that I began walking back to our table."one more thing..."said kaia,"let's keep this between you and me"."of course."Along my way back,someone tapped my shoulder.I turned around and to my surprise,it was carly."carly,what are you doing here?" I asked in confusion."the same reason your here"she said. "what?" I asked,puzzled.She took a deep breath and sighed."me and mason where on the street when it happened.I evaporated a few of them,and when I saw there was no more,me and mason came to tell you it was safe to come back out.As soon as we entered the doorway,we got transported somewhere in london.I used a tracking spell to find you,and mason flew me here."with that word said,mason appeared behind her,carrying a handful of cotton candy. "what's up?"he said,taking a huge bite of cotton candy."um...do you guys want to come sit down?" I asked, wishing I could have said it better."we got a table just off of the desert section".I added."Sure"replied carly."yes,that means my walk to marshmallow heaven will be less."said mason with excitement.I pointed them to the table,intending following them,but then something caught my eye. no...it couldn't be...I was dead staring.To another it wouldn't seem like much,but to me it was the world.It had been so long since I had seen her,and I had thought it would be even longer since I would. No longer restraining myself,I ran through the crowd,tears streaming down my face.I ran right up to her,arms open wide,and gave her the first hug I had given her in years.I squeezed her tighter than I ever thought I would.At first she lifted her arms back in surprise,then froze.She held her breath,then cried,wrapping her arms around me as tight as she could."I missed you so,so much.." I said.I broke from the hug. "I've missed you chloe."I began paying attention to my surroundings.sitting next to her was...Cloee joppa,and jacob carter."I didn't know you were in london " I said."yeah,we heard a call for help a day ago and came to make sure it was all okay"said chloe."so,you guys are all still stuck with that saving the world thing?"I replied with a bit of a playful teasing sound in my voice. "yes,we are thank you very much now,run along"said jacob.I looked at him as if he was crazy."don't make me count to three."are you kidding me,you still think that would work on me,it's been like three years,grow up.I thought as I waited to see if he was still silly enough to count.only a dimwit would.He counted."one...two...three...nothing happened."he said,startled. "anyways,moving on"said cloee,"where's kaia,is she still in new york?"said cloee."nope,she's actually here with me""OH MY GOSH WHERE IS SHE!!??!I HAVE SO MUCH TO TELL HER!!"said cloee."she's by the desert section."I said in dismay.Cloee launched herself over the table,striked a pose,and ran over to see kaia.behind me i heard chloe moaning."did you HAVE to tell her they had a dessert section?Now she'll never leave!"she thought on this for a moment,then began to smile."she's no longer our burden!"said said with a whoop.then all of a sudden her face got serious."oh no,gravities increasing,must resist.." she collapsed into jacobs arms."for more important matters,what are YOU doing in london?"she asked."I don't really know, I mean one minute were walking home,when a giant crater split the ground open allowing monsters to come out.which I took care of,of course,the next were in my house explaining how I'm a sorcerer when we all were sucked into a portal and ended up here in london"I replied. She thought on this for a moment."so our predictions were true."she stared off into the distance for a moment,then calibrated."okay,first off we need to get you to shelter so you can sleep.you have a long travel home ahead of you."she said her eyes filled with worry."if that is so,i think i have the perfect place"i replied,my eyes smiling enough on their own. About thirty minutes later,I lead them back to the shop we appeared at in london. "Stand back"i said.I pulled back my sleeves and chanted a spell.Instantly the shop began to repair itself.smashed mirrors became one once more,bunk beds rattled themselves together.the light's instantly flickered on,and we had ourselves a place to stay."okay,you have to teach me that spell when we get home"said carly,equally as amazed on how well it worked.In fact, I had made that spell up.it looked like what had appeared to one be a big lots.we split up and explored the surrounding area.kaia found a fold up tent.'I don't believe you have one of these in your bag,do you?"said kaia."no"I replied.she tossed me it.after finishing stuffing it away,I went back to exploring.there was journals and backpacks,hats and ties,phones,cds,dolls,books,pen yattas ,jackets, ,kitchenware,shoes,blankets,clothes,pretty much everything."hey guys,i found some clothes,if you want we could find some for us to wear for tomorrow."I said.carly approached."jackpot"she said,and headed to the juniors section.Chloe and cloee headed for the woman's,and the boys headed to the teen's section.Carly found a black shirt with a chain heart on it.It had long puffy flowy sleeves."almost to my liking" she said.she muttered a spell and transformed those puffy sleeves into choppy spider web cats crawl shoulder.chloe found a paint splotch silky blouse with silver lining."now this is to my liking"said carly,who looked incredible in her new shirt.sarah picked out a onesie with long red and tan pants and a black long-sleeved shirt.mason put on a mario costume.Jesse and Jrake did too.jesse put on a luigi costume,and drake,well drake wore a bowser.cloee wore a pinkie pie costume.Jacob put on a camouflage jacket with a bronze plated eagle symbol.I settled on a white blouse and boot cut jeans.once everyone was done changing,kaia eroded away a small hole in the ground.Me,jesse,carly,and kaia headed out to the woods to pick up some firewood for the night.after a few minutes of walking,we came to a clearing.I took in my surroundings."this looks good"I said to myself.I turned to the others."let's split up,carly and me take to the right,jesse and kaia,you take to the left.We will all meet up here in ten minutes.clear?"I said.Carly and jesse shook their heads in agreement while kaia gave a thumbs up.me and carly walked for a few minutes before talking to each other."so,how's it going?" i asked trying to break the uncomfortable silence."i'm fine" she said kind of tense."i guess i'm just really worried about getting home.I mean,look at the luck were having.a hole cracks open in the middle of the ground releasing monsters,then we get transported to london! I get that you got to see your sister and all and I'm really happy for you,but I just don't think this is right." I heard a branch crack."was that you?"i asked carly."no"she replied,sounding worried.something fell to the ground right in front of me.it was a twing. "Whoever they are,their in the trees."i said."what makes you think that?"asked carly as she folded her arms."that"i said,pointing up.carly lifted her head.above us was an entire treehouse ecosystem.it looked as if it was a watchtower on every tree. About a few trees ahead of us,there was a girl.she had long hazelnut hair with tanish brown skin."hello?"i yelled up to our unusual viewer."can we speak with you?" i asked.she tweeted for a moment,then a flock of hummingbirds lifted her by her arms and gently descended.she daintily emerged to her feet,and thanked the birds"your welcome"one said with a little kids voice."it the least we could do"said another.one sifted it's gaze my way."i like your shirt" it said to me."thank you"i replied.the hummingbirds gasped.carly turned and looked at me like i was crazy."who are you talking to" she asked.'the birds"i replied."she can hear us?"asked one."yes,i can,honestly,i don't know how."i replied.The girl with hazelnut hair turned to me. Not wanting to be rude, i closed my eyes and concentrated on the task at hand. Relax.... I told myself.when i opened my eyes to my amazement,i saw a swing that was the exact replica of maggie's."whoa..."started carly."can all sorcerers do that?"she asked.she closed her eyes and did the same thing. whe waited a little while.nothing happened."i don't get it why didn't it work for me?" she asked,equally as confused."I don't know"i replied.I thought about what i wanted to make.i tried again,this time with my eyes open.to my amazement,once again,a cluster of plants arose from the ground until forming my vision.When the transformation finished,a garden surrounded us.there were rows of cabbages,peaches,strawberries,bell-peppers,tomatoes,apples,watermelon,wheat,brussel sprouts,spaghetti squash,oranges,cantaloupe,the whole package.I spun around in amazement."this is great,if only we had a table,ooh,and some baskets for picking" said carly,her fantasy already running rampid.I smiled."one picnic table and some baskets,coming up"i replied.i used vines to weave into baskets,making about twelve of them.but what to use to make the table?I obviously couldn't make it out of plants.I wonder....with the commitment of my will,out of the ground,stone emerged,in the formation of a picnic table."now that is cool"said carly,already grabbing a basket and picking some strawberries.a thought in the back of my mind came to veiw."hey carly,what about jesse and kaia,how are we going to message them to come here?"i asked,concerned."well,you could make a giant tower out of stone where you can view them,make a vine zipline,zimmy on down there,get them on the zipline to,and make it go in reverse."she said,"or something".she went back to picking.i grabbed her by the arm,to the middle of the garden,and using my abilities,made us a giant rock watch tower.I spotted them just to the right of our return area.i kindly asked the birds to carry a vine carnival seat to them(in leaves it said:hailey made this get on).At first jesse looked puzzled.He looked over at kaia for an answer,where she shrugged and got on.once they were safely on,the birds brought them over to the picnic table.they climbed out of their seats,grabbed a basket,and began picking to their heart's desire.I carefully lowered me and carly to the ground,the rock tower making a staircase against the side."Guys,this is maggie"i said,guestering to the unknown figure to jesse and kaia. CHAPTER 3. "You're power's too strong, you are the bomb." said a strange voice. "Is this a dream?" I said. "Only if you want it to be." said the voice. "Uhm..? Ok?" I said. "Here is a necklace. Keep it safe, it will guide you." said the voice. "Gee... Thanks." I said and I kept turning the necklace around in my hand. It had the tree of life and two doves on it. It was also in a small round locket, with never rusted metal. With my calculations, it was probably from World War 2. It was very unique. I put it around my neck. The bright figure, the voice, kept chanting "Find the key. Find the key. Find the key. Find the key. Find the key. Find the key... find the key" Until it was gone. For a moment all was still, and I awoke panting and sweaty. What a strange dream. I looked at the others and they were all still asleep. Ugh, lazy pigs. I will not let them sleep in this late. "WAKE UP!" I screamed. "Ugh..." Jrakye groaned. "5 more minutes, mom." "IM SO NOT YOUR MOM!" I screamed. "What...?" Jrakye said completely confused about what is happening or where he was. For some strange Reason, My necklace from my dream was around my neck. "Hey... WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?" I yelled as Kaia walked out of the shop. We all started running after her but she wouldn't stop walking. Until, about half a mile down the road she stopped. She was looking at something in the distance at like a small shop or something.. A house, maybe? "Kaia? What's wrong?" asked Johnson. No reply. All that happened was that she kept walking to the house and didn't look back at us. As she kept walking we followed her. We didn't try to stop her because there was literally no use. Once we arrived at the house, she opened the door and went inside. "Kaia! WHERE ARE YOUR MANNERS? YOU HAVE TO KNOCK!" I yelled. For the sake of our team, I invaded and read her mind. "Guys, help her find the key," I yelled as I dashed inside. As I found Kaia she was at a candle, just staring at it. All around her was keys. But, she didn't seem to care about them. "Help me turn this candle." "Oh.. Ok," I said, as we both held the candle and pushed it a little bit to the right. "More." We kept pushing and the candle made a noise, almost as if gears of a train were shifting. Just then, the walls of the house turned revealing a safe with a key inside of it. My necklace started beating again the impulse lifted up. I had to hold it so it wouldn't fly off it was pointing towards the safe. We opened the safe and took the key replacing it with one that was hanging from the ceiling. "Let's get out of here," Kaia said. "Wait, there another one," I said and I chanted a spell that made it so that I could see where exactly the other key was. "I floated through the ground like a ghost and we received the other key. "Let's go get back to the others." As we raced outside, Jrakye and Johnson were waiting for us. "Took you long enough," Johnson remarked "Ugh. Whatever. Let's get into the woods." I said a bit tense. "You lead, I'll follow," he said. "Follow me," I said, my face a little red. We walked to the woods, and Johnson and I walked by each other discussing what happened inside. When we got to a bolder clearing we stopped. "I bring it to the surface," I said. I cast a spell and a marble box shot up. Just to the left, it had a keyhole." you do the honors" I told Kaia. Kaia took the key from me and put it in the keyhole. She turned it right and it opened revealing an old, tiny, polaroid camera." try it out"I insisted. Kaia held the camera up to her eye and with the push of a button a huge blow of dust came out of it, revealing a note. The note read: To whoever is reading this, You are about to embark on a journey that is not Only dangerous but will end up saving the world. I am Dr. Hudson and I am from the year 2067. I Have created a time machine leading me to find You 4 kids who will save the world. Your next location is the Eiffel tower, there will be my second note. Stay safe. The sake of the world is in your hands. Best regards, asoS nevetS Oh wow. I thought. Paris it is. "Hey jrake now would be a good time to use that private jet of yours," I said. "Paris, here we come". Chapter 4 After about an hour of waiting, a big black jet finally came into view. We all started screaming and waving our arms but Jrakye just looked at us like we were crazy. "You know it is piloted by a robot, right?" he says and laughed. We spent the rest of the time playing go-fish and old maid. naturally, I won every time. "Greatttt. Now we have a robot flying a JET!" Kaia said in her usual sarcastic voice. "Chill, it is way better than letting a 13-year-old KID drive it," Jrakye said, a little bit tense coming from him. He set down his cards and sighed. The jet came in a dropped a ladder down near us. Kaia didn't like heights, but in this case, she was fine with climbing up a ladder. Halfway through the trip all of the kids accept me were already sleeping. Ugh... I hate being the only one awake. I got up and went to the tiny freezer, I grabbed a cold pizza. I ate it cold, just because we don't have a microwave in here. Anyways, I opened my spellbook and flipped through the pages. You are probably wondering, how can she open the book but the others can't? Well, since I'm a sorcerer I have the power to open spell books. I looked through the pages and I had total Deja Vu from when I was a younger kid staying up until 6 am reading this book. The good o' days. Now that the fate of the world is in my hands. I just hope to find my other sorcerer buddies and we can all get together. My eyes felt heavy as I drifted to sleep, we'll be in Paris tomorrow, and everything will be solved. You have already recovered the sorcerers. "Huh?" You should've known they have been there from the start. It was the voice. Has came back to haunt my dreams? Ugh... Can't it just go away? No. I am helping you save the world. Hailey, you are stronger than you think. How could you not realize that the people you would play with ever since the age of 4, the people who got your back when some bullies threw poop at you? They were there for you. "What about Jrakye?" "You have." said a deep voice. "Who's there?" I asked in defense. "No one. It is only my voice coming to tell you something." "Well? What?" "You're stronger than Trina. You will save the world. And you will be a hero." "Is this Jesus?" "No! It's God." "Oh. What's up?" "Nothing much just granting prayers and watching over people the usual." "Ok. Well, I'm going to go save the world now." "Yeah, you go do that." "Bye." "Bye." "Yeah K." "JUST GO!" "Ok. Ok." I said and chanted the curse again but backward. Just then I felt another punch to the face. Ow. As she swung again I caught her fist in the air. "What? How?" she said in disbelief. "Ha." I laughed. I got her fist and hit her in the face with it. "Why are you hitting yourself?" I chuckled, I love having a sense of humor. Jesse cast a spell, making a ghost prison. "NOOO!" Trina screamed. "Push her in" I yelled. With a group effort, we pushed her in. Jesse quickly slammed the cell door shut and locked it. "Now, I'm sorry Jrakye," I said. "Don't please!" he cried. I pushed him into the volcano and watched him burn. Welp, the world is saved. He won't be remembered though. Just then, a bright light peaked out through the dark clouds. We saw little Jrakye's ghost come out of the volcano and up into the sky. We all waved at him and he made a mean face. But, it was to save the world. "Congratulations Hailey." Chapter 7 "What for?" I asked. "For being an idiot," God said. "Excuse me? I just saved the world thank you very much." I said, "I'm no idiot." "You sacrificed your friend so yeah you're an idiot." "WHAT?" "Jrakye was never the sacrifice. You were." He said. "Now because of this silly mistake, Jrakye is being sent back down and when he does, he will make the sacrifice you and be the one remembered." "I never wanted to be remembered. I just wanted to do the right thing." I said. "Look how that turned out," he said. "Now say your goodbyes to your friends." God walked off and I turned back towards my friends. "I'm sorry guys... I wish there was a way I could make this all sparkles and rainbows again, but there isn't" I said and I burst into tears. "I wish I could stay." "There is a way," said Jesse, and he took out the spell book. "The Everlasting Life spell." "No, it wouldn't work. I have to die. To be the sacrifice. "Revenge is satisfying." Said Jrakye. "Shut up Jrakye. No one even wanted you here," said Kaia. "Sorry.." He said and burst into tears. "Well, Jrakye I have to say I'm sorry. For trying to kill you." I said. He just kept crying. "Ok then," I said. Just then I fell off the volcano and landed on a gold thing. It was a key! Another key! "Guys! A key! A key!" I said as I scrambled up the volcano. "Search for keyholes," said Jesse. "Jrakye... Stay here." He crawled up in a ball and cried. "Ugh worthless," said Kaia. We searched all around the volcano. Finally, Steven found the keyhole, it was on the right side of the volcano at the very top. I inserted the key in the hole and turned it right. Then, the volcano started to rumble and a big hole opened up near the volcano. "In my time, we have something called Ero-Dialectics so that we can open any keyhole without having a key. It is so cool," said Steven. "Ok..." I said, and we all went down the stairs of the volcano. After about a few minutes of walking down the stairs, we came across a room full of books. "This is superb!" Said Jesse, the bookworm. "Nerd," said Kaia. I opened one of the books and it was in a different language, I think it was Hebrew or something. A page read: משוך ספר שאומר "סוף העולם כפי שאנו מכירים אותו" וזה יפתח את הר הגעש כדי להפוך את הקורבן. "Hey Kaia. Care to translate?" I asked. "Not at all." she said. She came and took the book from me. She studied it for about a minute and then said, "Pull book that says End of the world as we know it and it will open up the volcano to make the sacrifice.'" "Hey guys, I know where that is," said Jesse. He ran over and pulled it. Then the volcano started to make a mechanical noise and a hole in the volcano wall was opened. A platform came out of the ground. "I think we should put the clock here," I said. Jesse inserted it. Just then, My necklace glowed brighter than it ever had before. I heard clicking and then to my astonishment, it unlocked inside was a single key. I took a deep breath, reached out and inserted the key into the clock... All was black. Only for a moment though. I awoke In a place I had only dreamed of seeing: Heaven "You have done well," God said. "Thanks to you, I am giving the world a second chance," he said "God?" I asked, "Can I go back?" "I'm sorry, what is done is done." he said, "But, I will give you permission to watch over them." "I'd like that.." I said. I had done it, I had saved the world. This was a happy ending after all. Hailey was gone. thought, Jesse. To Jrakye, Steven, Kaia, and me, it was the end of the world as we knew it. The end.
