Because Nick knows that Gatsby is in love with Daisy. Because Gatsby isn't using Daisy he is in love with her. Gatsby isin't a player or cheater.
Why does Kilpspringer call Gatsby's house?
Because he left a pair of shoes and he wanted either Gatsby or Nick to send them to him.
Why is Nick in charge of arranging Gatsby's funeral? Why is this surprising?
Because no one else care about coming or helping. Because a bunch of people came to his party's and acted like they cared.

What does this quote mean? Why is this quote significant to the theme of the American Dream in the novel?
The quote means that no matter how hard you try the American Dream is just a dream it isn't real.
