An amount of money subtracted from an account. Represented by a negative integer.

Positive integers

Have values greater than zero, so they are to the right of zero or above zero on the number line.

Negative integers

Have values less than zero, so they are to the left of zero or below zero on the number line.

Integers

Includes all the whole numbers (counting numbers 1, 2, 3...), their opposite negative numbers (-1, -2, -3...), and zero.

Elevation

Measurement above or below sea level.

Opposite of a Number

On a number line, a number that is the same distance away from zero in the other direction

Below Zero

Temperature less than zero degrees. Represented by a negative integer.
