Luther drew up the 95 Theses against indulgences because of Tetzel's corruption. Almost overnight, the printing press distributed Luther's 95 Theses across Europe. They were also spread throughout Germany and Scandinavia. By 1530, the Lutherans were using a new name, Protestant, for those that protested papal authority.

Luther was very happy with the invention of the printing press. Luther, as the priest, felt that God had blessed them with the printing press and it was a way to spread the word of God around.
