Week 13 HET 110
Ester Lubricants
A synthetic oil used for HFC refrigerants. R-410, R404
fractionation
Occurs when one or more refrigerants in a blend condenser or evaporate at different rates.
Azeotropes
Refrigerant that are single or multi compound that condense and evaporate at the same temperature, R-12, R-22
Zeotropic
Refrigerant that experience larger temperature glide. HFC-507C
Near-Azeotropic
Refrigerants that have a multiple compound make up and have a very small amount of glide. R-502, R-407C, R-410A
Glide
The temperature difference from the time a refrigerant starts to condense to the temperature where it is completely condensed.
Vent
To release refrigerant into the atmosphere in large quantities.
Purge
To remove air from a line or tank using small amounts of refrigerant.
Mineral oils
Use on older CFC and HCFC Refrigerants. R-12, R-22
Schrader Valve
Used as a insert into a valve body to allow access into a refrigeration system.
