Slaughtering of workers petitioning for better working conditions, more personal freedom, and an elected national legislature. Sparked more protests and slaughtering. Nicholas reluctantly promised more freedom and approved Russia's first Parliament, Duma. He dissolved Duma after ten weeks, unwilling to share power.
