ALDI Center for Education: The program used by Aldi to train all associates the standards, responsibilities, duties, ethics, and beliefs behind the principles in which they operate.
AMS
Aldi Management System: The system that outlines the leadership qualities and responsibilities our management team has to its staff, vendors, and customers.
CGO-S
Computer Generated Orders- Stores: Computer program that orders product for stores based on store management inputs such as the amount of stock the shelf will hold. The system generates orders based on current stock on hand and previous product movement trends.
CDN
Consolidated Delivery Note: The document used to check in pallets delivered from the divisional warehouse.
EAS
Electronic Article Surveillance: A system designed to deter theft. Select high risk products have security tags applied by the supplier. The EAS pedestals at the entry and exit will sound an alarm if a security protected item is not deactivated at the point of sale.
EOD
End of Day: This is the last step for a closing manager resetting the computer to be ready to start the next day's sales.
LPC
Local Price Change: Any mark downs or competitive price changes that take place on a store level and not company wide.
MMS
Merchandise Management System: The program that tracks the movement of all products that are sold within the store.
MDT
Mobile Data Terminal: The devise used to order product and count inventory.
MDU
Multi-deck Units: Open front refrigerated 3 or 4 shelf units that display cooler items.
NLU
Number Look Up: These are one of two digit numbers that are given to larger items to be keyed in by cashiers in order to avoid lifting them more than necessary and expedite checkout for customers.
OPC
Official Price Changes: Any mark downs on prices that take place company wide and are usually communicated through the daily bulletin.
PIP
Perpetual Inventory Program: Inventory counted twice per month that enables stores to measure waste and loss results in order to improve ordering and handling practices going forward.
POS
Point of Sale: The register system where customer transactions are processed.
WFM
Workforce Management: The program used by management to write schedules, execute payroll systems, and make changes to the time clock punches.
