Why is a worldview important?

Because it affects every area of a person's life.

In 100-150 words, explain the importance of having a proper worldview.

The importance of having a proper world view is to help make good choices in life and to have a strong connection to god. Having a proper world view influences the choices you make in life. For example, if one's world view is proper, based on the word of God, they will make stronger and better decisions in life due to the positive lense of the bible. But if one's world view is improper, based on the negative view that their lives are insignificant through the view of atheism, they will make poor decisions in life due to the way they view the world.

What is a worldview?

The invisible lens through which one views the world.

Complete each question in the survey and submit it. As you are taking the survey, you should attempt to sift through all of the influences upon your own worldview to see which ones are good and, on the other hand, which ones are bad influences. In this lesson there were five worldview influences discussed (parents, media, friends, education, and religion). Think about how each one of these influence your own worldview and then rank them in order from most influential to least influential. Why did you order your list of influences the way that you did? (2-4 sentences) On average, how much time per day do you spend with your parents? On average, how much time per day do you spend consuming some type of media (music, television, social media, etc.)? List all types of media, including the names of apps, that you currently use on a daily basis. On average, how much time per day do you spend with your friends or peers? On average, during the school year, how much time per day do you spend doing school work or participating in school-related activities? On average, how much time per day do you spend participating in some type of religious activity (reading, praying, etc.)? Answer the four following questions in 1-2 sentences each: Where did you come from? (In other words, where did the human race come from?) What is your purpose in life? (In other words, what gives your life meaning?) What do you believe about right and wrong? (In other words, how do you know right from wrong?) What do you believe happens after death? (In other words, do humans go to heaven, hell, or simply lie in the grave forever?)

In this lesson, there were five worldview influences discussed (parents, media, friends, education, and religion). Think about how each one of these influence your worldview and then rank them in order from most influential to least influential. The five influencers of worldview are parents, friends, education, religion, and media. The influencers of the world view that affect me the most are my parents. My parents and I always have talked about certain subjects such as politics and religion, which has been very influential to me. The second influencer that affects me the most is a religion where God's teachings influence my thoughts such as how I treat others and what I want to do with my life. The third influencer that affects me the most is education. Education through Liberty Online taught me many concepts especially based on the belief of God. The fourth influencer that affects me the most is friends. I do not have many friends, I have only two best friends but they live far away and seven other fiends from the robotics team I joined. The robotics team does not share too much with me, just what it is like in a public school or private school. The two best friends do influence me with the same view of Christianity. The fifth and final influencer that affects me the most is the media. I do not have many social media except for YouTube and Pinterest, which barely influences me. Why did you order your list of influences the way that you did? (2-4 sentences) I listed the influencers that way because the most time I spent being influenced by them whether it be political or religious views. My parents came first with the most time they talked to me about concepts in life that I have yet to experience or improve on such as voting, driving, and relationships. Religion came second because through both school and church I have been heavily influenced by their gospel and teachings, which can even relate to my parents because they also like to talk about religion and Christ. Education is my third because it also talks much about religion which influences me much. My best friends are fourth because I do not spend much time with them often due to me always being busy and the other group of friends is robotics but we rarely get into conversations about deep subjects such as religion and politics. I put media in fifth because I do not like to hear what is going on because it is normally negative but when I do I get into a bad mood questioning, "why would they do that?" or "what good is that going to do?". Another thing to add on is I do not use many social media apart from YouTube and Pinterest. On average, how much time per day do you spend with your parents? On average I spend a good four to five hours on weekdays and a good 9-10 hours on weekends. (In teenager words: I spend a lot of time with my parents.) On average, how much time per day do you spend consuming some type of media (music, television, social media, etc.)? I am not going to count video games because I normally stay away from chatting with people online. I spend a good 4-5 hours a day from watching YouTube videos, to music, to watching TV with Mom and Dad. List all types of media, including the names of apps that you currently use daily. The types of media I use daily are the following:Spotify (Music App)YouTube (Video platform)Pinterest [not daily] (an idea or picture app)Television:Netflix [sometimes] (Movie/show service)Amazon Prime TV [sometimes but often recently] (Movie/show service)Fox News [not often] (Social Media Channel) On average, how much time per day do you spend with your friends or peers? Recently I have not spent much time at all, with my best friends because I have been so busy. But I have been spending a lot of time with my friends in robotics. Currently, I have spent 2-3 hours at our robotics meeting on the weekday and then like 9 hours on the weekends. We spend that much time because we are getting very close to the competition. On average, during the school year, how much time per day do you spend doing schoolwork or participating in school-related activities? I spend about 6-8 hours a day for school. On average, how much time per day do you spend participating in some type of religious activity (reading, praying, etc.)? I count school as a religious activity so that is 6-8 hours on weekdays and two hours on weekends. Answer the four following questions in 1-2 sentences each: Where did you come from? (In other words, where did the human race come from?) I am white or Caucasian. Born to a local family in Virginia who are ascendants of German immigrants. What is your purpose in life? (In other words, what gives your life meaning?) What my purpose in life is what I think to help others through engineering. I love to build things and help others so I hope as a job I can design prosthetics to those who have lost their arm or leg. What do you believe about right and wrong? (In other words, how do you know right from wrong?) I know right and wrong from common sense and religious teachings. Using common-sense is simply knowing something is wrong. If my mom tells me I can't eat the cookies, then I cannot eat the cookies. Religious teachings are following the 10 commandments as a personal guide to follow it and know what is right or wrong. What do you believe happens after death? (In other words, do humans go to heaven, hell, or simply lie in the grave forever?) I believe that humans go to heaven if they believe that Jesus is their lord and savior. But if they do not and reject God then they go to hell forever.
