a type of farm subsidy: the farmer is guaranteed a minimum price for everything produced.
Environmental stewardship
an economic goal which aims that economic activity must be carried out without significantly harming the natural environment - in this case farming
EU
an international organization of European countries formed after World War II to reduce trade barriers and increase cooperation among its members
Import tariffs
taxes on international trade, taxes levied by domestic governments on purchases from foreign countries
Protectionism
the policy of imposing duties or quotas on imports in order to protect home industries from overseas competition
