The Poetic Imagery is difficult for the modern reader, There is a lot of changeover, and most content that the song is about the love between a woman and Solomon while some think the book is about the woman and her shepherd lover while Solomon is a villian who is taking her away. However this is unlikely it is known as the "shepherd hypothesis"
