Demonstration
1. The correct answer provides an example or scenario that's exactly described in the text or... 2. The text provides an example or scenario that's exactly described in the correct answer.
Restatement

Barely relevant: ~A statement that makes sense BUT has almost nothing to do with anything in the citation or CITED text

Confused relationship: -Includes many ideas from the citation BUT confuses the relationships. -Pitfall: Traps those reading only for MAJOR idea & not reading for detail

Direct Contradiction: -Directly contradicts something in the citation. -Makes the reader question if they read the passage wrong (or answers wrong) -Time waister-cause reader to go back and re-read.

Literary interpretations: -Statements that are actually literary interpretations that often involve character analysis, symbolism or metaphor.

Reasonable statements: -Rely's or counts on readers outside familiarity with subject matter but isn't actually restated or demonstrated in the text.

Restatement or demonstration of the WRONG part of the passage: -The QUESTION will cite a specific line or quotation from the text, BUT the answer choices will accurately restate or demonstrate a part a passage NOT IN THE PROMPT OR question. -You will often see TWO choices that seem to restate the passage correctly -Always go back and look at the RELEVANT passage to the PROMPT

Text: Benjamin Franklin Invented bifocals "Franklin loved his sister and wanted to make her life easier." The answer is 'speculation' or based on an assumption by what Franklin was motivated by.

Text: Benjamin Franklin Invented bifocals "He thought that improved vision would help his countrymen to be more productive with their work" Rely's on knowledge that Ben Franklin placed importance on productivity but the relevant text doesn't mention it at all.

Text: Benjamin Franklin Invented bifocals "He wanted to revolutionize the way society viewed glasses." This answer seems to make sense but has almost nothing to do with the cited text.

Text: Benjamin Franklin Invented bifocals "His sister had a congenital vision problem" ~ Both the ideas of 'sister' and 'vision problems' are directly restated, however, the word 'congenital' is not.
Wrong Answer Type #6 example
Text: Benjamin Franklin Invented bifocals "His sister invested in a cure for his vision problems." The answer uses the ideas of 'sister, investing and vision problems' from the citation but messes up the relationship among them.
