18.5 - 24.9
square the meters
Example: 1.6256^2 = 2.64
Pounds divided by 2.2 = kg
Example: 125 ÷ 2.2 = 56.82 kg
Move decimal over two places to get to meters
Example: 162.56 cm = 1.6256 meters
Inches multiplied by 2.54 = cm
Example: 5'4" -> 64" x 2.54 = 162.56 cm
Divide kg by m^2
Example: 56.86/2.64 = 21.5

Example: BMI is 21.5 kg/m^2
Clinically obesity is further classified as I, II, or III using BMI -BMI of 40 or higher is considered
extreme/severe obesity (also called morbid obesity)
