Chapter 13 Leadership

The __ approach to leadership focuses on the traits or dispositions that are associated with leadership talents. The implication is that some traits are better/worse for success. The classic research of McClelland and his colleagues (McClelland & Boy-atzis, 1982) identified three motives or needs that drive the behavior of leaders. They are the need for __ (desire to influence,control or hold a position of authority), __(desire to solve problems, get results, accomplish objectives), and __ (desire to associate with people, to guide and support them, and to derive gratification from helping others to succeed).
