Dealing w Drugs and Alcohol behavior
if an employee appears to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol the supervisor should: - Observe worker for signs of impairment - Have Secondary supervisor observe for corroboration - Ask how the employees feels - Look for signs of impairment such as slurred speech - Send employee for medical care or home - Document your observations - Follow up - Inform workers of the numbers of warnings the company will tolerate before requiring termination - Refer troubled employees to the company's employee assistance program
