The Indians welcomed the colonists around Massachusetts and was kind. But the Indians felt threatened by the growth of the colony. So when two men died (no one knows how or who) but the Pequot Indians went to war in 1637. After the war they lived in peace for 40 years and the leader Massasoit disliked the colonists. He thought they poisoned his brother so they went to war. The English had a strong force but the Indians decide to burn livestock and and colonies and at the end 600 colonists and 3,000 Native Americans died. The war was called King Philips's War. The worst was Bacon's Rebellion, the Indians ended up with violence and attacked the colonists already had problems of their own. The colonists attacked the wrong tribe and caused more problems. Nathaniel Bacon went along to continue raiding the Indians but the Jamestown governor disagreed but bacon took over it later and died of disease later...
